Got no warning about insufficient skills at armorer rank 7, managed to complete with 20 durability with weathered doming hammer (though I believe it would be safer to try at higher rank, perhaps 9 or ten, since it was close to botch several times)C:

At 16 I use hammer and get 10/10 success, I used pliers and got 2/7 success. Use hammer.
