I just made 9 out of 12 of these as rank 12 weaver. I used the common clotheshop and 3 cotton yarn +1 for more durability. If these are 19 then you can start way before.

several japanese sites have listed this recipe as R19, like all the other colored cotton cloth recipes. Maybe SE has made some adjustment to this recipe.

Results in: 3x Undyed Cotton Cloth on both Primary and Secondary
I was able to complete the synth with comparability to an even-level synthesis as a lvl 15 Weaver with normal support from the camps. 300-ish XP per success.
Edit: I just received 3 bolts of undyed cotton cloth +1 from a HQ main hand.

Using the Secondary tool I have been able to HQ 6 yield instead of 3 several times. Not sure which tier of HQ this is but I would assume 1.
Also done the same with canvas.

Nice! So the new rank needed for the synth is maybe around 15? I'll have to see the difference with/without the crafting support at R18. Thanks for the update!

I got 240-270 xp at weaving 19, and even with support it felt like walking through mud. All but one of ten synths started with explosions, and half the synths had unstable elements occuring... 2 synths even failed miserably...

I am getting this too on a leve. I have done this same leve before without issue. First time since the patch I am doing it, and I can't seem to get past 50% without a huge amount of luck. Either those general synth changes made everything harder, or they made this particular synth extremely difficult.

When I make these, it says I only need 6 earth shards.
Are you sure that's not for Hempen Cloth?

At 12 Weaving, with the Clothshop Access buff, I went 6/6 on making cotton cloths from regular quality cotton bolls, even HQ'ing once and getting 16 instead of 12. The "Preserve" ability that you get at 10 Alchemy really comes in handy. It keeps the orb solid white for 3 attempts.

I think you are talking about cotton yarn and not cotton cloth, as each synth of cloth only yields one unless you HQ.

you know, after starting out in ffxiv, i was glad to see crafting wasn't as difficult as in XI, enter cotton cloth into my life, i am rank 14 weaver, have points into mind, and all other conspiracy stats to improve crafting, and am using a bronze needle, and i still, for the life of me, cannot complete this synth.

After 6 tries I can't even get this recipe beyond 60% at lvl 10 weaver. Good Luck
The cost from all vendors is 6400 gil, it is not cheaper in Uldah.
