Bridging the Gap

Premise:

A Bridge near the God's Grip in southeastern La Noscea is in dire need of repair, but Naldiq & Vymelli's cannot send armorers to do the job until the surrounding area has been rid of the violent toll puks which build their nests near the aging span. Hihine believes eight of the winged scalekin should be sufficient.

"Welcome to Naldiq & Vymelli's, metallurgists extraordinaire─founded many, many generations gone by legendary forgemasters Naldiq the Wright and Vymelli the Smith! Ah, but I can sense from that look in your eye that you are not here to wax lexical with a mere metalworker. You come entreating employment! Well then, the Spinner has smiled upon you, for I just happen to have a task for the taking, if you are but willing to take it. You see, La Noscea is dotted here and there with bridges connecting cliff to cliff, spire to spire... Perhaps you've passed over a few on your plentiful perambulations across the patternless plains?"

"The upkeep of these splendid spans has been assigned to none other than the Armorers' Guild, and for the most part, we have little trouble in tending to our duty. There is, however, one bridge that seems to persist in posing the most peculiar of problems. For some ridiculously unfathomable reason, the metal rings used to connect the bridge's rungs to its ropes seem to have a remarkable penchant for rusting. Replacing the rings themselves should not prove problematic, as we have more than enough artisans ready to rise to the occasion. However, the pitiless puks who have made their happy homes nearby the bridges have a peculiar penchant for assaulting our amiable armorers... Do you see where I am going with this?"

"How wonderful! The besieged bridge in question is situated far to the southeast of Limsa Lominsa, and connects the left half of the Gods' Grip to the La Noscean mainland. Without it, the candlekeeps cooped up in Oschon's Torch would have no means of escape in the event of a Sahagin raid─which is why its upkeep is of the utmost importance!"

Head to south of Bearded Rock

Head out of Limsa and go south once you exit the gave, curving around to reach the target location

Kill Toll Puk x8

Element: Wind

Weakness: Ice

Kill 8 Puks. There should be plenty roaming around nearby.

Talk to Hihine

Return to the Armorer & Blacksmith Guild and speak with Hihine for the reward

"You've returned...and in one piece! I will have the repair party depart immediately. You have our deepest thanks, Name. I shudder to think what might have happened had we been unable to replace the rings before they completely corroded... Have you the faintest idea what rebuilding a ruined bridge requires? First, the guildmaster rounds up all the lightest armorers on the nearside of the ravine─and by lightest, I mean smallest, and by smallest, I mean me and my loyal Lalafellin brethren."

"Then the guild's Roegadyn are called in to heave each and every one of us to the far side, where we are to begin the rebuilding process. Let us just say that there is not a Lalafell here at Naldiq & Vymelli's who wouldn't willingly miss his own mother's coronation as queen of the realm if his attendance meant going anywhere near a fallen bridge."
