Embarrassing Excerpts

Premise:

At the Blue Badger Gate in Gridania, the panic-stricken Lonsygg tells you of his journal, which he keeps hiden in the wood, and how he recently came upon a pack of opo-opos shredding it to pieces and carrying off the scraps. Be a good adventurer, and retreive the five missing journal scraps from the opo-opos near the Mun-Tuy Cellars.

"Oh, gods no! No, no, nooo!!! This can't be happening! You! You there, please! Help me! You must help me! My journal, it's my journal! I keep it hidden in the forest, under─well, I'm not going to tell you where. But somehow a pack of opo-opos got their filthy mitts on it and now it's in pieces! I caught the little bastards in the act, but they ran off before I could get close."

"Some of the pages have been completely ripped from the binding! And opo-opos don't even live in that part of the wood. Everyone knows they live over near the Mun-Tuy Cellars. What in the hells were they doing there!? I've never faced such a crisis in my entire life. If any of those pages were to be found by the townsfolk... Dear gods! I'd never be able to show my face in Gridania again! I'd search for the pages myself, but my duties hold me here. Please, you must help me! You simply must! I'm begging you! For the love of the gods, pleeease!"

"As far as I can tell, there are five pages missing. Find whatever opo-opos have made off with them, and get them back! Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you! A thousand times over! Now, you must promise not to read the pages should you find them. Promise me! Oh gods, the very thought! I-I couldn't bear it! Please, please, pleeease promise!"

Head to Mun-Tuy Cellars

Head North west from Gridania to Camp Emerald Moss. From there head north east until you reach the entrance to the Mun-Tuy Cellars. Zig-zag your way through the maze to the spot on your map

Collect Lonsygg's Journal Scrap x5

Rank: 25-29

Element: Fire

Weakness: Ice

There should be plenty of Opo-Opos hanging around here and the next spot up. Kill them until you have all the Journal Scraps.

Return to Gridania and speak with Lonsygg for the reward

"Lonsygg: The pages from my journal! You've found all of them! What...? You had to kill the opo-opos!? Why, you heartless─ Did you truly have to kill them? I'm told they scare quite easily. A stout beating, perhaps, but death? It seems...extreme. At any rate, I trust you took no pleasure in the deed... Gods, please tell me you took no pleasure in the deed!"

"No, no. It is not my place to criticize your methods. You have retrieved my journal pages, and that is all that truly matters. I can concentrate on my duties once more, safe in the knowledge that my innermost secrets have not been the subject of public perusal. I will simply have to hope that you did not indulge your curiosity... Here is your reward. Not a word of this─to anyone!"

You obtain 20 lightning crystals.
