Walkthrough

A quest guide by RiezeCrestfall

This sidequest is for all Ranks.

This is a fun sidequest although very tedious. You have to travel across every region in order to get the ashes. You will then escort the Bombard which takes at least 10 minutes and you must do this 21 times. This guide will help you figure out how to do the quest and a bit of trivia as well.

Step One

Speak to any of the Firefall Faire chaperones, who will appear in each of the three city-status.

Faire Chaperone Locations:

The Firefall Faire chaperones are easily seen because of designs on their stand. You can distinguish it by the big bombard baloon.
  • Find Xheh Jakkya at the Limsa Lominsa, Upper Decks (7,6)
  • Find Judyeat Gridania (6,5)
  • Find Miette at the Ul’dah, Merchant Strip (5,3)

Step Two

Faire chaperones will ask you to take part in the Bombard hunt, and provide you with a special heat-resistant swimsuits.

Step Three

Travel to the hamlets the chaperones direct you to, and there speak with the dispatched Cascadier NPCs.

Bombard Locations:

  • Eastern La Noscea (34, 18)
  • Western La Noscea (14, 21)
  • North Shroud (21, 13)
  • South Shroud (43, 48)
  • Eastern Thanalan (40, 19)
  • Western Thanalan (14, 33)
  • Coerthas Eastern Lowlands (58, 30)
  • Coerthas Western Highlands (18, 24)

Step Four

Use the following emotes as instructed by the Cascadier NPCs to enrage the Bombards.

  • /wave
  • /laugh
  • /rally
  • /dance
  • /pose

You need to collect all of the following:

  • 6 Red Bombard Ash in La Noscea
  • 6 Green Bombard Ash in The Black Shroud
  • 6 Blue Bombard Ash in Thalanan
  • 3 Black Bombard Ash in Coerthas

Step Five

Lead the Bombards to the nearby Festive Furnaces to incinerate them!

Step Six

Speak to the Cascadier NPCs once more after incinerating a Bombard to collect the remaining ashes.

Step Seven

Return to the city and present the ash to the firefall faire chaperone to collect your reward.

Collecting Additional Swimsuits

  • Obtain all colored ashes namely; Blue Spinner, Red Lion, Green Comet, and the Azeyma's Candle and exchange it for the corresponding firework.
  • Use the Festive Mortar located in any of the three cities, or on the ferry, to launch your fireworks.
  • After setting off your fireworks, receive a swimsuit from the nearby attendant Cascadier NPC.

Festive Mortar Locations

  • Onboard the ferry connecting Limsa Lominsa, Lower Decks (3,5) and Western Thanalan (4,26)
  • Limsa Lominsa, Lower Decks (6,7)
  • Gridania (5,1)
  • Ul’dah, Merchants Strip (6,5)

Collect All Swimsuits and Create Your Own Original Wallpaper

Once you have collected all of the available swimsuits, visit the Lodestone to create an original wallpaper of your character. Commemorate this year’s Firefall Faire with an unforgettable image using the swimsuit, pose, and background of your own choice!

How to Download

  • Collect all of the swimsuits available during Firefall Faire.
  • Log into the Lodestone and click the Firefall Faire commemorative wallpaper banner to go to the wallpaper creation page.
  • Create and customize it with your desired components and generate your wallpaper!.
  • You will have two available poses, four backgrounds and five different swimsuits to choose from.
  • Select your desired size.
  • Once complete, download your original Firefall Faire wallpaper!

Notes

  • Throughout this entire process, the location of event-related NPCs can be viewed in the journal.
  • The color of ash left by Bombards varies between regions.
  • Recomendation is to use the Macros configuration. To what ever key you like, configure the emote that you want so that it will be easier rather than to type it everytime.
  • Remmended to use Cure, Shell, Protect and Shock Spikes in aid of the Bombards.
  • The Black Bombard Ash is the hardest to get, you need to defend the Bombard King to a group of elementals and you need to be at least level 30-35. Suggestion is to just buy it in the Market Wards.
  • This sidequest and the wallpaper download is available for a limited time only.
  • You can also exchange a pinch of Ash for a Sparkler depending on the color and location corresponding to the ash.

Journal Entries

Your attempt to join in the festivites of the Firefall Faire has taken an unexpected turn: you have unwittingly sworn yourself to the service of the Cascadiers, a suicidal squad stablished by the Adventurers' Guild to deal with the Bombard menance. Duty requires that you report to a senior officer posted at the nearby hamlet, under whose direction you most safely dispose of the enemy, before delivering it's ashes to the devious captain.
