And just what is Kaomoji, if I may be so bold?
Kao means face in Japanese, Kaomoji could be loosely translated as emoticons (although is more something like "facial expression characters"), Either way they are just like our own using punctuations symbols like =), ;P, XD, etc, but taking advantage of the extensive library of 2 byte characters.
You can use this pack deadgye:
Kaomoji (I trust you can read Japanese but if you can't just click on red banner with the big "download" and follow the image instructions) That pack has all the common ones (don't remember exactly but the total is over 600):
( ^-^)_旦~
( ̄。 ̄)y-~~
Ψ(`∇´)Ψ
ヽ(´―`)ノ
Cultural note:
- the kanji for Kaomoji is 顔文å—
- In my personal experience Japanese dislike people how pretend to be Japanese by writing kana or using kaomojis, is better to introduce yourself as foreigner always and as you may know with English is quite easy to point who is native and who isn't.
I hope this helps.
Ken.
