THAT is the most you could do!? If you can KILL argus you can farm. Lesson learned from camping Okotes.

That's 2 hours per CLAIM. Not counting hours spent not claiming (alot) and a VERY conservative 5k/hour farm rate that's 1 million gil, and Okotes only cost about 600k

Now a realistic estimate is is at LEAST 10k/hr, more if you know better things to farm.

Go farm Slime Oils in Korroloka Tunnel, in the last 72 hours you coulda made about a milion gil at the rate of 15k/hour with TH3.

May I point the ludicrasy of wanting Peacock Charm for your Rdm? No only is it completely a unnecessary in general, but the amount of effort you'll put in for something that will give you 0% benefit in performing your role as a rdm is ridiculous.

Holy Phial is like 2k and what you'll probably be wearing in any party.

Dude . . . get RDM to 75, then you can cap pretty much any weapon a RDM has native skill in with one hand tied behind your back.

(The glaring exception is non-DD RDM's most used weapon, the staff, which it has no native skill in, because SE hates hybrid mages.)

37 war doesn't count. In fact neither does 55 rdm for that matter.

There's just no real point in spending the time to camp Argus. He's driven countless people insane, and you don't need a PCA to level up anything. Nobody expects it, especially from a new player.

If you're that determined to get a Peacock Charm/Amulet, use your Beastman Seals and do BCNM40 Under Observation until you get it (RDM/WHM BLU/NIN BLU/NIN or RDM/WHM NIN/RDM NIN/RDM or RDM/WHM NIN/BLM NIN/BLM works well), it will save your sanity. You'll make a lot of gil from Utsusemi: Ni (and currently Phalanx) scrolls in the process of actually getting PCC to drop, too.

However, speaking as a RDM who insisted on meleeing at that level (and is generally just pro-RDM-melee), they're not going to want you to no matter how good your gear is. They will always yell at you for it. You can melee in Campaign (and you're the Ferrari of Campaign jobs at that) on RDM, though.

Of course the only thing stopping you from both meleeing and pink maging at the same time is this idea of the "right way to play".
