I first started playing FFXI in May 2004. Against all odds, I got my Hume MNK to 75 within a year, which was a hell of a feat considering my work hours, and the facts that MNKS didn't skill well with other jobs at higher levels. I can honestly say that I love this game. The soundtrack is second to none among MMOs, and unlike many people, I loved the long grind. I have so many wonderful memories of this game, so it is because of all the good times that I'd like to ask for help in fixing my problem. If I'm posting in the wrong forum, I'm sorry, and please redirect me to where I should go.
Last year I reactivated my account, and transferred from Shiva to Siren to play with a couple friends. I paid 30 dollars through clickandbuy.com. A few weeks later I received notice that my payment didn't go through. I't turns out that because clickandbuy is operated outside of the US, my bank rejects all attempts to extract payment from my checking account. By the time I realized this it was too late, my FFXI account was locked, and for some inexplicable reason clickandbuy deleted my account with them, preventing me from making payment after I'd authorized my bank to accept payments from them. Clickandbuy is a very scummy business. They have an account verification process that requires you to send them a photocopy of your driver's license, a bank statement, your bank routing, and account number. Who the hell would need all that info? Should I send them nudes as well? Their customer service was absolutely abominable. Calling them results in a catastrophe. Their phone line sounds like you're calling a cell phone in someone's basement, and the people who pick up the phone have a British tinged Indian accent. At one point I even offered to send them money to thier bank in Chicago, but they refused that method of payment. I tried emailing them, but yahoo bounces backs the emails, saying that clickandbuy is on their "Blocked" list. In the end I threatened to go to my state's Attourney General if they continued to press me for payment, while asking for a gross amount of personal information, and refusing to take the money I was virtually throwing at them. I've never heard of a company that had this much difficulty before in handling payments.
Has anyone here had to deal with them before?
What can I do to rectify this?
