The only thing that worries me is the "four people every 15 minutes" bit. Not sure how they think pre-formed parties will do it if this functions like Behest.

Got a few extra details to answer some of the questions that were presented here, and elsewhere. Sorry for the delay in getting these details for you all.

Is there a level requirement to take part in caravan security detail and will the enemies’ strength vary based on your level?

Disciples of War & Magic level 25 and up that have pledged their allegiance to a Grand Company can participate. The enemies’ strength will not change depending on the player's level.

Quote:
Can you enter as a party?

Yep, it is possible to enter as a party. Caravan security will function the same way as Behest and allow up to four players to participate at once. Caravan security sessions will take place every 15 minutes.

Quote:
Will the number of players involved affect the number of enemies that appear or their strength?

The number of players involved will not affect the number of enemies or the strength of the enemies. The content may be very difficult to solo.

Quote:
It has been noted that a chocobo's HP can be recovered by providing their favorite food, but where can this food be purchased, and what does it cost?

Chocobo food will be sold by vendor NPCs in each city-state and the caravan security reception NPC. There will also be other methods to acquire this food!

Quote:
How do you give food to a distressed chocobo?

When you select the chocobo, a command is displayed, and you can choose to provide them with food from the displayed menu.

Quote:
Can you take part in caravan security with a player who is affiliated with a different Grand Company?

Nope, you won’t be able to join in the operation with a member of a different Grand Company. Also, you will only be able to take part in caravan security from the aetheryte associated with your Grand Company’s city-state. For example, only members of Ul'dah's Immortal Flames can join the caravan security operation in Camp Horizon.

Quote:
Will you receive EXP from defeating enemies?

Yep.

The four people per 15 minutes also kind of worries me, but I also have a feeling that these kinds of activities are going to continue to be implemented for a long time, so eventually this will be more than adequate for these escort quests.

Hmmm. Interesting, I kinda wish you could do the caravan quest anywhere and get credit with your Grand Company. I guess the question will be how many people will make Immortal Flames (uldah) there Grand Company...

I always planned on making Gridania my home. This patch will allow me to finally do so.

The 4 people every 15min is not something i take lightly. If 200 players line up to do it, that's 50 groups of 4 at 15min interval is 12.5 hours. Assuming a lock out exists so you can't finish it, warp back and start again. I really do hope that it plays out better than it reads.

I highly doubt it would be that congested for long. Most behests I do don't even have four people.

People will still be crafting, gathering, partying, and doing dungeons and behests...it's not like every single person in the entire world is all going to line up at the same time at the same camp. Well at least not for long (maybe a day or two). Give it a month or so and I reckon it will be as empty as behests are now.

It all depends on if they give us other means to obtain seals.

So far, this hase been the only thing announced to repeatedly give seals and people will bum rush it to get at least enough seals for their rank and chocobo. I hope it does die down quick, but me thinks that for at least the first month all three camps will look like Horizon Behests did about a year ago.

Actually, I seem to remember in the guild leve revisions a note about how new leves will be available from campaign hq counters. I'm guessing these new leves will be the new way to rack up fast campaign seals.

This made me lol! A cacti only has so many stingers to produce... but when they all want the tasty liquid from you, the plant is left to die. You should be Cactuar KING!

Forgot about that. GC leves and "supply and replenishment" tasks. Hopefully they both offer seals, the later for DoH/L especially.

Also remember Behest is available at many, many locations. Every player on the server will be limited to doing an escort in one specific location. It's probably going to remain irritating to do these until they add them to more camps.

Escort supply caravan is supply and replenishment task.

Hope I'm wrong.
