So it says that if you are legacy you don't need to sign up, I guess it'll just be the normal account?
#3 Jan 07 2013 at 11:52 AM Rating: Good
Anyone knows how to actually start playing the beta? I got legacy status but when i log in to my ffxiv account there is no client to download or anything to indicate beta.

It's just the sign ups, they haven't actually launched it yet. We don't know when the beta officially starts.
#5 Jan 07 2013 at 12:00 PM Rating: Decent
According to roadmap itll start Feb 10-20 sometime in between there.

So just curious, lots of people were saying that legacy doesn't mean you have guaranteed entry to beta, based on what SE says about legacy members you don't even need to sign up. So does that mean I will have access regardless?

That's the way I read it and am treating it. I expect when they send the invites out the'll just automatically include the email addresses for legacy members.

Unless you want to test the PS3 as well, in that case you'll need to reapply I believe.

Thanks for the fast response

I'm curious at which point they'll release the benchmark.
#11 Jan 07 2013 at 3:04 PM Rating: Excellent
Probably when the beta has had some code updates and the benchmark is somewhat close to what will be released.

If I remember correctly YoshiP said something about different versions of the benchmark. One that would be released before beta phase 1 starts.
I could be wrong though.

I would probably do the same thing if I were in your shoes but please forgive me if I hope your ps3 app goes to someone who's actually been waiting many years to play this game Smiley: laugh

I was more excited to sign up for the original FFXIV beta test, and even got suckered into thinking things would be different. Well we know how that turned out...

Now, signing up for ARR, I'm not really excited/or have high expectations, but I have a small feeling I'll be somewhat surprised. And I think a better game will come out of this beta.

I'm mad, because I no longer own my copy of FFXIII. I don't remember if I filed it when I got it either. Grrrrr

Mine sits in my entertainment drawer mocking and laughing at me. Silly me tried to 100% the game without reading "don't sell anything"!

When beta starts I should be able to see if I can update that or not. I know Microsoft isn't officially supporting them anymore, but I could host the files myself.

That's not nice.. I guess because you would wish that on me too. However, I, like many more, have been waiting for a FF game to come to the PS3 since it launched. I had the 60GB and loaded FFXI on my PS3 with my PS2 discs, what a joke that was. I was so happy when I heard FFXIV was going to be on PS3 then got sad when it was delayed and canceled until further notice. In March of 2012 I got bold and wanted to play FFXIV before it was done, bought a new Graphics Card just to play. Would you still wish my app to go by even though all I really want to do is play it on my PS3?

I will gladly DL it to a PC or laptop for portability but the PS3 is where ill make my home. I am even looking into keyboards. To I extend the wired one 15feet or do I get a wireless one. Ahh the ultimate two choice quiz. I love it. Good luck for those wanting to get into PS3. I wonder if my Legacy status will put me at the bottom of the list for the PS3 since I am automatic PC....

Wint, isn't us saying we are Legacy technically breaking the NDA that has yet to be established for the Beta?

Does that mean you will </see all "I'm Legacy"> posts and nuke them? lol there are going to be a lot of random holes in some of these threads. Haha.

I'd have to nuke myself and that would be like dividing by zero Smiley: tongue

Just in case anyone wants an official statement:
Common sense tells us that while you can say you're Legacy, still no spilling the beans on what is going on with the beta.

I'm reasonably sure you can't be held accountable to an agreement that A: doesn't exist, and B: you haven't agreed to yet Smiley: smile

So you think we just open our old clients when it's up and off we go? for legacy anyway.
The download will be astronomical.
