Ran it a few times... First three are on the Intel GMA4000 w/High CPU is 3610QM with 12GB all passes are at 1920x1080 second set of runs I used the 670M on my laptop.

Hopefully this helps people looking into a laptop for the game. I'm running a Sager NP9130 (older gen, the newer one has a 670MX... the 9150 is a great deal too). You can get Sager or Cleveo Laptops alot cheaper through 3rd party distros, some of which offer military discounts and some student discounts.

I'd test my desktop, but I don't feel like tweaking around to get SLI working on the bench at this time.

Pretty sure the limiting factor was the graphics card. CPU utilization was about 20 - 25% and memory was maybe 5 - 10%. I'm recommending if you make modifications to your system that the most bang for your buck is he graphics card.

It seems so far that a good video card can make a pretty big difference. If you read through, you will see a decent increase from an Nvidia 460 to a 560 - to a 660. Ram and cpu don't seem to make a big difference, unless you are running a high end i7.

I went from 5158 to 5203 on max by turning off motion blur, so not much help on my rig.

Does this program just test your computers ability to run the game or something? Sorry for n00b salad question

Edit. Also does the hard drive play much of a role in the operation of the game. I got a good cpu radeon 7850 and 4gb of ram. Is this good lol im hopeless with pcs

Yes. It runs a chunk of the game's engine and has your computer render everything while it does this. It then assigns you a score based on how well it did that which gives you an idea of how well your computer should run the actual game.

I thought running my old 460 and AMD 965 at 1920x1200 on Preset maximum was good at just under 6k till I saw these scores. I'm going SSD and a new videocard before game launch, It says i can run at higher resolutions but don't guarantee FINAL FANTASY XIV A Realm Reborn will run, it must be a Benchmark legal thing.

I have a spiffy-wiffy Windows machine that runs the benchmark at 1920x1080 Maximum with a score of 6541, but I wanted to try something really intaruesting, and decided to run the benchmark in a Parallels 8 virtual machine on my late-2012 iMac.
System:
Windows 8 Pro 64-bit (6.2, Build 9200) (9200.win8_gdr.130108-1504)
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770S CPU @ 3.10GHz
4095.551MB
Parallels Display Adapter (WDDM)(VRAM 512 MB) 8.15.0010.18354

At 1920x1080 Maximum... fuggedaboudit! Final score: 568 ("INADEQUATE"); average frame rate: 4.6 FPS. It was a complete slide show from start to finish; moreover, the loading times for each segment were incredibly long. Not really surprising. However, I was pleasantly surprised that the benchmark did not crash.

As a more reasonable test, I ran the benchmark again, at 1280x720 with the Medium preset. This went much better: 2407 ("STANDARD"), with an average frame rate of 19.7 FPS. It was still choppier than I would like, but it would be marginally playable if my Windows machine exploded or something.

I have no doubt that this iMac would knock out quite respectable numbers in Boot Camp (16 GB RAM, 3.1 GHz i7-3770, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M, 512 MB VRAM), though not as high as my Windows gaming machine. I don't have Boot Camp installed, though, so I can't really check.

Anyway, if anyone was curious... there you go.

Alright Benchmark is looking great!

A few questions:

1 - What's the 'best' way to run the benchmark? (I.e. do you have no other programs running on a fresh reboot etc?)
2 - Does the benchmark utilise SLI (I'm guessing no since it's run in windowed mode)?
3- If no SLI - what is the likely real-world performance boost when the game launches in full-screen mode with SLI active?
4 - Based on my system, what would you say is my biggest weakness?

My System (note GTX 460 is SLI):

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.130104-1431)

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460(VRAM 3793 MB) 9.18.0013.1407

My Benchmark results (Max and Med):

Maximum:

Average Framerate: 28.429

-Capable of running the game on default settings. Consider switching to a higher resolution depending on performance.

So far with my playing around, overclocking my CPU can squeeze out a few more but overclocking my GPU made a bigger difference. Also my GPU maxed out while my CPU never broke 50%. I have a i5 2500k @3.3ghz and a GTX660TI (same architecture as the 670/680, not the same as the standard 660) and on max 1080p settings I get around 6200-6400. I think when they implement SLI support, you'll be fine. I don't know if the benchmark will ever show it.

Just to add; the maximum was copy pasted on top ;) but the score is from everything off at 720p hehehe

MAX@1920x1080 = 4500
MAX@1680x1050 = 4800
MAX@1600x900 = 5463
MAX@1280x720 = 6616
