If I banned people for flaming, pretty much everyone here would be banned at one point or another. Do you have something you want to say about the subject?

How'd you deduce that one, sh*tlock?
Your lack of attention span and inability to recognize quality storytelling mostly. You're not a "snob," that just sounds better than your inability to follow. Also quick to change your story when it suits you, and to anger. It's either ADHD or bad taste, both of which is the kind of crowd the F&F movies cater to. I'm leaning more towards bad taste, since you understand how awful those movies are and are embarrassed to be called out on it, but it could also be easily treated with pills as well so I haven't quite ruled that out.

Ahh yes, the accusation of trolling. The last bastion of a cornered prey. Instead of trying to disprove what is being said, try to distract everyone else that might be paying attention. That might actually require thought and work. Smiley: wink

Your posts have been specifically targeted at his tastes, making asumptions that you apparently know more about them than he does. You even tried to convince him of what he likes (Fast and the Furious) in a blatantly obvious attempt at baiting him into responding (trollish behavior).

Either you were trying to be clever and failed miserably, or you were trolling to incite him to reply to you. Having seen you post on these forums for however many years now, I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say you were trying to be clever. Unfortunately you failed at it, and you kind of come off sounding like a massively egotistical jerk. I assume it was part of the "clever" part, but it seems to have backfired. You're welcome to keep going though, it makes for good reading. Smiley: nod

So what's your excuse for whining and complaining at every opportunity... because to be quite honest, lolgaxe has posted some pretty awesome info and made some excellent points over the years, and all I've seen from you in the past few months is posts about XIV being a WoW clone and how every possible thing that someone brings up you can put a negative spin on. Yeah, I'll take lolgaxe and his occasional *ssholery over your doom and gloom anyday. Smiley: disappointed

Not even that, just back and forth to increase post count. I figure Kachi picked up on it quickly which is why he continued as well. Like you and Wint said, if done well it's an interesting read for outsiders.

I learned a long, long time ago not to take lolgaxe's "attacks" seriously. It's just pissing around like he said. No harm in that, unless the other person really thinks they're being flamed. I hope that isn't what happened here.

Fair enough, I kinda gathered it was something along those lines.

I'd say that's 90% of "flame wars" on these forums.

Pfft, clearly I struck a nerve when I suggested that I was becoming a video game snob. Seeing the dissonance between our tastes, he took it as a personal attack on his own taste. I was surprised that it provoked such an insecure response. And now he's backpedaling to save face Smiley: disappointed

Re: Killua, that I've seen he only attacks the game, which I obviously have no problem with. He generally makes fair points, even if no one seems to want to hear them.

To be fair, you sounded more butthurt than him through the whole exchange. Just an observation.

Edit:

If we can't keep this one on topic then I'll lock it, let's drop the matter shall we?

I tend to disagree that his points are in any way "fair" based on something he hasn't even tried, but I'm going to drop it as we've been down that road before.

I'd say that lolgaxe+1's 36k+ posts are more ban protection than his subscription. Not that anyone is immune from banning, but the mods tend to show more leniency for people who actively participate in the community for the long term.

Whereas a veritable troll with a paid subscription and ten posts to his name wouldn't last an hour.

I don't think I've said anything rude to anyone here, I'm "mean" to XIV, but XIV isn't a person, it's a product and I'm a customer. Every time I post lolgaxe makes some snarky remark at me.

I think it's totally different to talk about something on-topic in a negative way, and just making posts to insult people. IMO. But yeah, 36,000 posts. I did ignore him but it doesn't work.

Edit: It's not really bothering me that much but I noticed that within 3 minutes of my posts lately, I get some rude response from him. I just posted my opinions on some games listed and in a couple of minutes: You like THAT game? HA! Ahhh, but whatever.

I guess you don't get 36,000 posts by being thoughtful. In fact, a lot of his posts are just meme images, I noticed.

Pretty sure there was another instance where he bashed my IRL financial status... I admit that one was a little hurtful.

So, yeah. I just made it to Azalea Town in Soul Silver. I started naming my Pokemon some ridiculous names, but now I have an itch to play something new. I might get Kid Icarus: Uprising for 3DS. Anyone have opinions on that game?
