I think every few weeks I talk my self into getting really excited for the release. With Phase three coming and the release of PS3 info and a possible spot on the testing team,.... I'm so excited! To me it looks like things are Turing out great. I can honestly say from what i have seen, this is a great place for me to stay and call home for the next several years, regardless of its short-comings.

Regardless, the open world is more than enough to satisfy me, "it will give us so much extra space... to do activities!" I get happier as a release comes closer and the carrot dangling, that is release date, PS3 info, and soon to be talked about CE, I'm am so looking forward to summer.

Sorry but I got so excited this morning that I wanted to type about it and share that info will all of you. Thanks.

No, there aren't nearly enough of them. I honestly thought this was going to be a complaint topic. I am happy to be wrong.

I'm pretty excited myself. The games I've been playing in the mean time just don't seem to scratch that itch for me, June can't come fast enough Smiley: thumbsup

Yep, I'm excited too. It's funny, 3 months ago I knew almost nothing about ARR, having quit playing XIV just before they started charging. Once I saw the information that's been out, I've been growing steadily more excited about the game. People can talk negative all they want, it's not going to change my enjoyment of the game. As you said, it will have its shortcomings as all games do, but I think the positives will far outweigh the negatives. I have to commend Yoshi-P, when he first started I really didn't know if he could pull off an almost entire game redesign, but from what I've seen, he's done that admirably.

I'm very excited to get my hands on the beta in June.

Agreed. This was a nice change of pace.

On my very first day of logging into FFXI for the first time having no clue what I was doing, standing outside the city in East Ronfare I waved to another player. That wave turned into so much more, got invited to their linkshell with a lot of helpful people and they directed me to this web site. At the time I thought it was a secret site that only a handful knew about. I was so wrong but the site grew on me. I used the recipe section among reading the posts for years to come.

My very first post was when ZAM was giving away beta keys to the v1 beta. All though not directly at me was meet with semi-harsh response talking about being a sock, troll looking for a invite when others with tons of posts were trying to get in. It took me some time to get used to the community on a talking basis but it wasn't all that difficult and would like to think I was accepted into the community as someone who is helpful to others.

Someone said or I heard that saying you first mmo will be great as no others will be like it. And it has been, FFXI was my 1st, WoW 2nd, and a few others I played. Have been using this site for years with FFxi & WoW and used it for the short time I played v1 in FFXIV. Guess you can say I'm a fanboy or whiteknight for ZAM. While there are other sites out there with a lot more information, the people I've come to know on here help with that shortcoming.

Zam has become part of my bi-hourly page refresh while procrastinating from work because Phase 4 cannot come soon enough.

It's probably not breaking NDA to mention I'm in the beta (since we can talk about certain experiences), but Phase 3 just won't be enough for me. Though I am very excited to see what all my shiny gear looks like in ARR, and go exploring the world freely with my character.

You can still have a real life and be excited for an mmo. I work 40-50 hours a week, have a fiance, and hang out with friends and family every weekend. We go places and do things, yet I'm still very excited for this game.

I don't really sleep a ton, so I can actually still be semi-hardcore for an mmo. I'll probably still be able to put in 20+ hours a week once it's out. Of course, it certainly helps that my job is crazy easy and I can play at work sometimes. One of the few pluses of working for a small business.

I am pretty excited as well. Having played V1.0 until my PC went down. I would have still played until the end had it not been for that. Also I feel there is more positive than negative this time around which I feel is a good sign.

Working from home means never having to miss an NM's spawn window.

Not all of us have self-control and the discipline, I ditched my date for Junior Prom for a chance to get E. Body >_> eh, it paid off though

Hehe, if needed I could probably do that here at work. I have a laptop and a desktop here, so I can do my work on the desktop and run FFXIV on the laptop. I'm not good at actually "working" if I work from home, so I don't mind coming into the office.

I'm with you Louis, the excitement I have for this game is abundant.

I must admit, at first I was a bit worried... however I am now pleasantly relieved to hear all the good things people have to say about the game.

One thing I haven't heard anything about is crafting/jobs like fishing? I don't know why but I loved fishing (until they changed in XI, I got LuShangs and they changed the fishing catch numbers literally like 1 weeks later... I think I went into a bout of depression lmao) and XIV. Have they released these aspects of the game in the portion on Beta that people are allowed to discuss yet?

It seems like they are really doing some good things with this game.

I actually quite enjoyed fishing in 1.0, and from what I've heard, they basically revamped the mini-game for all crafts, making them a bit simpler, but seemingly more enjoyable as well. I haven't seen the interface for fishing anywhere, but I'm assuming it got a similar overhaul to the others, and should be quite user-friendly and engaging. At least I hope so.

Its nice to see I'm not the only one. I F5 this site all the time at work and I'm always looking fr new information. Last night I decided that I would buy a laptop to run FFXIV on while I'm at work and craft, farm, NM hunt wile I try to book some refinance loans.

I also can't explain how happy I am to finally be getting the MMO experience on my PS3. Two main reasons I got a PS3 were 1) Socom and 2) A Final Fantasy MMO. So excited.

Me too, I loved fishing in XI (106 + ebisu). I hope the 2.0 version is as enjoyable, the exploration aspect of trying catch specific fish was always something I enjoyed in XI.

Ebisu eh? Now that's a fisherman ;)

I don't know if this has anything to do with the way people feel about the game but; I've actually slowly shied away from final fantasy threw the years but I always whent back and bought and played any re releases of the older to mid history games. I shied away from XI mainly because of my schedule. When XIV was announced I was all in but certain things made it harder and harder to enjoy my self in the game, But I still enjoyed it. The other day I whent threw a video on YouTube the history of final fantasy. It made me realize that I really enjoyed the older (up to the IX) games. And I think this game (ARR) brings that back for me. I'm probably wrong but that's the feeling I have for (ARR).

Took me forever because I refused to buy the fish from people, which meant going out to get my own Key Items and the Albatross Rings for pulling up Gugru and Lik...

The one fish that is ******** in that game is Matsya (has a chance to drop a crafting skill +1 cape with Zaldon), you have to catch Cave Cherax (not easy in their own right), trade them to Zaldon for a 30% chance at bait being inside them, then go try to catch Matsya and hooking items and other **** 90% of the time, then another 7-8% of line breaks....yeah. People wonder why they sell for 200k each.
