PC, PS3, or both?Follow

I have it. I got it because I found it for the same price as the regular one, so I figured why not. It's very well built, though I can't say if that means its better than the PS3 model. Assassin's Creed 3 comes to mind. Haha yeah, I read that after I posted my comment XD. I wanted one pretty bad when I first saw them. The reqular one isn't terrible, but you can feel the cheapness of the plastics and craftsmanship with wobbly shoulder buttons and somewhat loose joysticks.

Every gamepad I've used does the whole numbered buttons thing during setup, even an offical PS3 model. It's annoying when you first start to mess with it, but eventually you get used to it and what buttons are what numbers.

Edit: I looked at the pic of the FFXIV controller and noticed that the buttons were actually numbered on the controller as well lol. Yeah, that would take some getting used to. My Snakebyte was a PS3 model so they must have added the standard button symbols to it.

In that case, I highly reccommend it. This one is definitely not cheaply built. Just messing with it now, and the shoulder buttons and joysticks fit snug and it really does feel solid. I'd rate it as slightly less quality than a PS3 controller, but not by much. Now that I know that all controllers do the numbered button thing, I'm extremely satisfied with it.

I got it out again and fiddled with it. the PS3 model isn't too bad, but the thumbsticks don't feel like they have the resistance that a normal PS3 or 360 controller has, I don't think they would be great for any sort of twitch gaming.

Yeah, then I'm sure that the FFXIV model is built differently, as I just compared it my PS3 controller and they felt almost identical. I also felt it translated quite well when playing, where the controller was pretty responsive to movements and button presses. I haven't used PS3 controller on my PC yet to compare, but I'm guessing it will hold up fairly well.

Oh and anyone for some reason has a controller that the game doesn't support, Xpadder 5.3 is amazing. You have to download a Microsoft application compatibility program to run it on Windows 7, but it is well worth it. I've been playing Thief 1 with a controller to moderate effect and am Looking forward to trying Morrowind or Oblivion with it as well. It can even map mouse movement, which is pretty awesome.

With 1.0 I was using a 360 controller on PC.

But I don't like sitting at my PC for an extended period of time now a days, so I really dont know what I'm going to do.

I might take a look at a better chair, or just move in a couch and bigger monitor/TV in my computer room and play on that...

When I was younger I used to pull up a stationary cushioned armchair sometimes and play on our computer. I don't know if your desk setup would work for it, but it is comfy XD.

I have a chair shaped like a bowl, and the PC tower hooked up to a 40 inch sony monitor (I guess you can't call them TVs if they don't have tuners? Just found that out, anyway...) in the living room. I would LOVE to use the PS3, or at least the controller. I've been using a rolling TV tray that you can put the keyboard and mouse on for gaming. Very comfortable, but I can't recline.

So lazy lol...

I used to have a club chair I'd use but our cat trashed it.

I actually might just move the monitor closer to the ground, as I like sitting on the floor and I won't have to buy anything, lol.

My 32" tv is wall mounted above my monitor (also wall mounted) and I use it as a second monitor if I need to. If I don't feel like sitting at my desk I'll switch to the tv and recline on my bed. I put a lot of thought into being lazy Smiley: tongue

That could work XD. Plus they have fairly cheap little gaming chairs that sit low to the ground that rock. Or if you have a van with removable bucket seats you could use one of them like my friend did for a while. lol

I'm going to go both so I can play on my PC and watch TV or play on the TV if I don't feel like watching anything as well. Will probably PC for dungeons for the accuracy.
