i to dislike the lvl sync function... especially with being able to semi lvl fast(in comparison to XI) this syncing shouldnt be of an issue... cluttered it is and im pretty sure the interface to PS3 will be pretty customizable it would almost half to be...

are there skills in XIV like in XI where i capped at 255dagger or elemental magic and such? if so they just absolutly killed it for the beginners with the lvl sync... i forsee a bunch of unskilled peeps running around not being able to hit ****!

Nah, no skill ups.. atleast not from what I gathered while I was looking at my menus while I was standig in Gridania.. <.< >.>*looks for Wint* ...Also level synch isnt a bad thing. Its good for on the go leveling.. If I am high level and am standing in a camp and a low level fate starts up, why cant I run over hit synch and gather some exp to knock out this 580,000 exp tnl?? lol

I have to agree that the screen is really cluttered. I want to see some footage of the PS3 version so we can know how the optimization is coming along. Something tells me I either won't get into P3 beta or it will be a little later than "early" June.

TNL was 100,000 at level 50 in 1.0.

Am I the only one who thought the FFXI UI layout was actually pretty good? I prefer a large textbox that doesn't leave me squinting to read. Hell, I think tiny textboxes are a big part of the lack of communication in MMOs today. Now they have all this... ****, cluttering up the bottom of the screen. I don't need to see what my hotkeys are set to. In fact, somehow, in all the video games throughout history, we've managed to get by without a constant onscreen tutorial to show us what our buttons do. I like that they're using the controller scheme, but I feel that one of the strengths they're missing is that it doesn't need to show up in the UI.

You realize nearly all of that is configurable right? You can make it as minimalistic as you want.

Can I make it go away?

My other concern is if font size scales with text box size. Usually it does not, and often there are no options to increase it. Works fine for the PC where it's right in front of your face, I suppose, but I really prefer the larger text when playing on a TV.

Yeah, when I played WoW there wasn't nearly enough TPP macros like all that glorious communication in FFXI.

Nope, you aren't the only one. I liked the FFXI UI as well. It was very minimalistic, and I liked the giant chat box. It definitely wasn't very intuitive or accessible to new players, but once you mastered it, it got the job done. I don't need my screen cluttered up with random crap like it was in WoW, where tons of add-ons were all but essential in endgame raiding.

I used to just pretend to have the add-ons in WoW, nobody knew I didn't.

Ditto! Seemed to free up the screen and I could see more.. "all the clutter breaks my immersion!" (Put that immersion bit in there specificaly for wint! XD)

Nice! Good to know. It's just not in the basic drop down list I guess.

Why isn't it in the dropdown list dammit!!! Smiley: motz

Sorry, just needed a reason to use it.

Nope. I liked it. I hate how cluttered WOW screens look. I also hate when you look at someone's desktop and they have 9000 shortcuts Smiley: motz
