Small update today on the official FFXIV site. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/game/armoury/land/fisher not really much but it's something.
"The relatively recent birth of firearms has created an entirely new area of expertise which is being adopted with fervor by many ambitious smiths."

Smiley: lol

I've never been big on crafting in any MMO I've played, but I was an avid fisherman in XI. I'll definitely be picking up the rod again (that's what she said).

Oh wow, I love the grin on that miner. He must be looking up at one of the high-stages at the Miner's guild.

Fishing will definitely be the craft I pick up at some point. I loved fishing in FFXI pre-mingame update. I liked how peaceful it was. I could go somewhere and just enjoy the music. After the update though, that music would cut in and sort of take me out of that mindset. It was still fun, but I wish they'd keep it the way it was originally.

On a side note, do you guys remember how much money you could making mining in Zeruhn in the first year or so?

People are going nuts over a line in the blacksmith description.

Everyone thinks they're gonna announce Buccaneer/Corsair/musketeers now. We'll see lol

That would be awesome, but does that mean they're also considering a gunsmith class as well...?

That will be reasonable but they could put the gun crafting in the blacksmiths job as well.

"Just give me all the bacon and eggs you have.

Wait … wait.

I worry what you just heard was: Give me a lot of bacon and eggs.

What I said was: Give me all the bacon and eggs you have. Do you understand?"

Is it just me or does it seem like everyone on that page has AF? I thought only the jobs had AF, not the classes.

Artifact Armor. Sorry, AF was always the XI acronym.

Ohh..wow. I can't believe that went completely over my head. I was under the impression that DoL and DoH classes had AF from the Tour of Eorza Part 2 video at 5:42.

"And I'll have the number eight."
"That's a party platter, it serves twelve people."
"I know what I'm about, son."

That Goldsmithing AF looks really spiffy. I already planned on getting it to max level. More incentive now.
