That Goldsmithing AF looks really spiffy. I already planned on getting it to max level. More incentive now.

You're going gold smith..? Nuuuu! I wanted to make fabulous jewelry too,, Dx

I plan on going after all of the DoL/DoH classes, you know. I'll still accept your gifts!

I think I might end up delving into the rp aspect of this game...if I run around giving you and other people rings and earrings, does that count as courtship?

I did this in 1.0. All craft/harvesting jobs were 25-30 and my highest combat job was 25. Be careful, it's strangely addicting.

Careful, someone might get offended...

That's definitely the plan. I'm not interested in focusing on combat classes. I can't pass up the utility that the crafting/gathering classes offer.

When I first started I thought would be boring...then two days later I realized I had not killed a single mob in my time playing Smiley: lol

'Someone' wouldn't happen to be a Canadian Cat Lady would they?

So, you're going to focus more on gathering and harvesting, rather than fighting and leveling up when the game comes out? :o

She's going to be a Man-Cat, actually Smiley: lol

And yes, crafting will be the focus at the start until I'm satisfied with my income. If everyone else playing with us wants to do the same, that would work out quite well. I'm really not in a rush to get a combat class/job to 50.

I'll be focusing heavily on gathering/crafting at the start as well. Since I'll be starting fresh, it will be nice to get a jump on the market and help set the prices. I plan to be very, very rich in this game. Smiley: king

In fact, I think in beta phase 3 I'm going to focus completely on DoW/DoM to get a feel for them and all the content, then when phase 4 starts just go nuts with gathering crafting and do that up through launch.

I'm the total opposite of you guys. Crafting for me is like pulling teeth. I was always the guy with two gathering professions Smiley: lol

I can guarantee my fishing skill will be maxed out, though Smiley: cool

It's funny, I was talking to one of my buddies about the game and explaining my master plan of becoming rich. He just looked at me and said "Dude, you do that in every mmo we play." And it's true... I always try and master the market and make crazy money as quick as possible. Funny how that works in games, yet in real life I'm in the lower end of the middle class. Smiley: lol

You must have enjoyed pulling teeth then Dx In XI I gave up after a few failed attempts to make ingots and stopped fishing shortly before moving away >.< I have to admit, I am slightly interested in fishing though, because of that armour xP

I'm the same way. I find myself enjoying the aspects of the game that ultimately lead to currency grinding. The sad part is it has spilled over into other genres. I'm pretty sure I hunted and gathered for two weeks straight and then maxed profit in finished goods while playing Red Dead Redemption, Skyrim, and every other game with a currency system I've played since 2007.

I'll see your Ron Swanson quote, and raise you another Ron Swanson quote:

Ann: How many drinks of alcohol do you consume a week?
Ron: One.
Ann: That's it? One drink?
Ron: One shelf.
Ann: Do you exercise?
Ron: Yes. Lovemaking and woodworking.
Ann: Do you have any history of mental illness in your family?
Ron: I have an uncle who does yoga.

Reraise:

“Capitalism: God’s way of determining who is smart and who is poor.”

Really though, I'm the same way. Before I started playing XI I looked up ways to make gil. For the first month I spent half my time setting up my gardening empire. 5 mules running 24/7 had me pretty wealthy for a noob Smiley: smile

There's either a landscaping joke or a nod to Scarface somewhere in there....

By the way, I really had no idea Nick Offerman was so popular >.<
