I wonder how long will it take Microsoft to figure out that they are losing customers.

I can see people's issue with this, but the games I play on console are mostly fighting games. Obviously I can't speak on Xbox One vs PS4, but nearly all of them played better on Xbox 360 than PS3. If that trend keeps then I don't really see an issue with not sharing. I'd rather pay for my own game if it plays well than be able to borrow one that doesn't.

I've preordered the PS4, but I really like the feel of an xbox controller better. I hope they have somebody who makes an xbox clone controller for the PS4 for people like me who just doesn't like the way the playstation controller feels.

So, I might just be slow today (happens far more than I like to admit), but what's that got to do with how a controller feels? I'm missing a connection.

I too like the xbox 360 controller better than the ps 2/3 controller design. I have to agree with the thread/internet though that I will not be buying an xbox one. I will probably bet a ps4 eventually for final fantasy and kingdom hearts though. I put off playing kingdom hearts for years and realized what a mistake that was after I finally got to playing them at the urging of a friend.

Someone might also do the following with the new controllers:

That is fantastic. I wouldn't trust myself to make it on my own though.

Pretty much everything related to the Xbox One has been epic failure. My favorite is (paraphrase) "We just need to educate them about why this model is better for them, trust us, we know" and "we expected this backlash, we aren't surprised". But this is the same company that brought us Windows ME, Vista, and 8 so...

Not only it can't play used games, you can't play any game unless you have Internet access.

Sure you can, you just need to pay full price to unlock the disk Smiley: smile

I haven't heard details on how trading/selling games will work.

Granted I have only talked to about 10 people about this (personally I mean), but nobody is amused with microsoft's DRM. Most people I know will get a PS4 instead, and most not at launch (we are all poor students/cheap bas****s). I thought their arrogance at the feedback for Windows 8 was incredible, but that was almost open minded compared to this. At least with the 8.1 update to windows, they are giving people some options back.

This made me laugh and then think. It might actually be in line with their new strategy of "publishers before gamers". It would would be whipped cream on the crap sundae they are trying to sell for sure.

Here is a decent article with details:
http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/06/microsoft-defends-the-xbox-ones-licensing-used-game-policies/

Summary:
1.) You will mostly be buying games in a digital format.
2.) Your downloaded library can be shared with friends, or used at your friends house temporarily.
3.) Every 24 hours, the Xbox One checks online to see if the person playing the game is the registered user.
4.) If you don't have internet connection for 24 hours, the ability to play ANY games will be suspended.
5.) Lastly, it will be up to the game's publisher whether they set a limit on trading (giving/selling) used games to friends permanently. For a permanent trade to work, they have to have been on your friends-list for 30 days. It seems they intend to limit the number of times a digital download can change hands to ONCE. It cannot change hands multiple times.

In general this sounds limiting. Perhaps it will seem better after we are used to the idea. Maybe, MAYBE, this is the future and it is actually somehow better for everyone. Not sure about that yet.

It's not and it won't be. It's just Microsoft being ignorant ******** and refusing to listen to their customers. That's fine, they'll learn their lesson when they get absolutely DOMINATED in sales figures by Sony and independent game developers start pulling the plug on projects, leaving them high and dry.

The time I most want to play a console game is this:

1. Just had a big thunderstorm
2. Internet is out, but power was restored

It could be days before they fix the Internet. That means quality time with offline games, but Xbox says fack you if it's been more than 24 hours.

Please, please, I hope you are right.

I am very worried that XB1 will still be a success and MS will just think the "Suck it if you don't like it" attitude is ok.

A majority of people prefer Xbox controllers even though they may not prefer the console over PS, just like a majority of people prefer the features of WoW (ie. user interface, control scheme, ect.) even though they might like the FF series more for other reasons like story, music and the like. I mainly made the statement because they used the word 'clone' which is often used as a jab at other games for including many of the features that made WoW, in the words of Devildawgs "the most successful MMO ever created".
