Hi all!

I was just wondering if there has been any word on whether or not ARR will be available as a digital download through the PS store. I tried checking google and didnt really find anything. I'm hoping it is, as getting a physical US copy of the game isn't gonna be so easy to due my current location (And from what I understand, it HAS to be a US copy, as my square account is US)?

I would say there's a 99.99% chance you will be able to digital download it through PSN.

Which is pure conjecture.

There is no knowing for certain at this point.

Maybe, but since you install the game on your system and never use the disc, MMORPGs are more suited for digital sales.

Doesn't Amazon.com ship the game to your location? If not then play.com probably will. I installed the EU client of FFXIV 1.0 with US discs.

Yoshi has only said they're looking into the possibility and more details will be given at a later date.

That's assuming you don't need the disc.

IIRC, XI needed it for PlayOnline. Maybe you won't need it this time around which would be good but you're right it would kind of pointless in having the disc at all.

You will get a voucher on your e-mail with that voucher you will enter the code into enter voucher code on your ps3 and start the download.

That's for the beta. The game I think you will be able to buy disc or digital download.

Won't a digital version be necessary for the early access anyway? I can't find anything solid either but it's my understanding that we will receive a code to download the game in advance since we won't have access to the install disk until the actual release date. It's just a guess, but I don't see how else it'd work.

I don't see them not having that option. As said above you need to download the beta already why not have the full game to download on release day.

Hi, I asked that question when I called Gamestop. I was told that the early access would not be for the whole game, just parts of it. That was her guess from previous esperiences with early access items.

I would think the beta client for the ps3 would just update to the release client, and the only thing you would have to do to access the game is register your key on SE's account manager page. If you aren't in closed/open beta, you might have to have the disc to install the game, but I can't imagine that limitation applying to people in beta, though it might.

Let's hope it is downloadable and doesn't require disc. That helps load times tremendously.

FF XI for PS2 didn't require the disc. You actually accessed the game through the dashboard where the HDD was listed with the memory card. I can't imagine they would load anything from the disc with a 12 GB install.
