It's Carbuncle, did you want it to look like Garuda?

No, I wanted a new model.

So a totally revamped design of a blue cat-like thing with long ears, fluffy tail and a ruby on its head? Because nearly every single Carbuncle has been like that one right there.

I'm with you. Current (old) model is a fat, blue pikachu..I'd definitely like a 'sleeker' fox-like version of the little guy. .

Alas, I won't be rolling a smn for some time so I don't care much in the end :)

I don't get why RMT isn't simple to prevent. If they can so easily catch NDA breakers, isn't it much much easier to do a simple google or ebay search and find a TON of RMT sites to sue?

How much more different can Carbuncle look...? It looks just fine in FFXI. No need to make a new model when the old one looks just as well.

I don't want him to look super different, I was just hoping they would put some effort into making a new model for him, because I love Carbuncle.

Yoshi just mentioned the team is looking into a number of RMT-prevention methods, such as keeping new players from trading items. You're welcome!

So I know I said earlier that it would suck if SCH had a pet... but I was more or less thinking that they would recycle SMN pets. I think it's awesome that it gets its own dedicated pet, and the "stance" concept sounds interesting. Can't wait to try it!

Yeah. "A totally revamped design", which is what they've done with every other Final Fantasy title. This is the first one (besides X-2, XIII-2, etc., sequels) where they are using a crap load of models from a game which came out like 12 years ago.

Oh you know you want it. If Carbuncle came out as a blue lizard, you'd be ticked off. Just read the forum on DRG's having Omnislash. Be thankful you have some sense of familiarity.

Hey! If drg's can't have their pet dragons anymore, you aren't allowed your pet summons.

It's only fair. :<

I disagree. I like baby Ifrit. I found the overly large summons of FFXI annoying in parties. They were so large and annoying. Call me weird. Also, with the ACTUAL summons in the game, it would really detract from that system to be able to summon a full sized ifrit.

well you didn't summon the actual primal/prime in FFXI, only an avatar or image of it. Just doesn't feel summoner'ish considering that all previous summoners got to summon either avatars/images or the real thing. Sure I would be fine if they scaled down the models, but that thing is just.. tiny and puny >_> or perhaps that's just me =(
#123 Jun 13 2013 at 4:08 PM Rating: Good
I think a huge summon would be awesome as a limit break for SMN a la FFX aeon style.

How many areas/zones will there be at launch?

We haven't really been counting them. We know that at launch with probably area/dungeons combined we hope to have 40ish with the ability to expand to about 80ish over patches.

Awesome!!!

Well, you're just mindlessly agreeing with everything and anything they do.

Complain that they're using a 12 year old graphic model in 2013? WHATD U WANT GARUDA?

Complain that the avatars look puny when they're supposed to be epic? THEY WUZ ANNOYING WHEN THEY WERE BIG

Anyway, like I said, I don't think that was Ifrit, but the egg version they were talking about. I'm gonna assume Ifrit will be big.
