Same here, I have to head to work in a few. NA PS3 invites hadn't even been sent out on time. I could have gotten a few hours in before work. Sigh.
It's probably better you don't know. Cause if you did, you'd just have more of an excuse to go home early. And if you did you'd just be experiencing the same things as us. As beta goes. Maintenance. Adjustment. Maintenance. Log out. Maintenance.

Four hours up at the start of a beta this big with very limited lag (for me in Uldah and surrounds) has been a fantastic experience.
In Beta 1, we were logging on and having access to other people's characters, server was crashing every twenty minutes, the lag was so bad in the opening area that you couldnt even complete the first quests.
This beta has been paradise - 4 hours of sheer gaming delight.
Yes this Beta phase is solid. Been playing since launch, tired but don't care. Damn as I write this all worlds maintenance started haha
I'm stuck at work too, only 2 and a half hours to go!
Maintenance isn't bad, in the alpha we lost all progress because they had to roll back the servers, that was fun 
Didn't get to do much in game besides create the character and attune to the crystal before I had to leave for work, but so far I'm very impressed with this phase. No issues at launch, none of the screen tearing some others experienced, no lag or issues getting through character creation or start up. When I got out of the first instanced bubble there were a ton of people around me in Uldah and I didn't even experience a bit of choppiness (on max video settings too).
Smoothest day 1 beta phase I think I've ever been in so far. When I get home I guess I'll see if that continues into the starting area. In a way I was kind of disappointed in a good way, our job is to test and so far I couldn't even report about nitpicky stuff.

my only negative, which i'll post once forum is back, is that the tree shadows a certain distance away still badly jitter until you get close enough for it to render in full detail.

That must be terribly frustrating, but it makes me glad that I didn't wake up super early for this. I'm going to ditch work in about 2 hours though, so hopefully some of these issues get resolved!

I played until level 4 and then couldn't get back on. This is good though, I can work while at work instead of constantly dreaming of beta.

I'm at work for another 6 hours, then I'll probably be doing something with friends tonight since its my birthday. I'll at least be able to register and start downloading the ps3 client when I get home if nothing else. Gotta leave town to visit my dad tomorrow so ill be gone half the day for that, not to mention I need to start packing because I'm moving out if my place next weekend.
Maybe I'll have time to fit in some beta in there somewhere!

Created a character, world list not available...haven't gotten in yet. I used a vacation day today too. Making more coffee now, will probably be bouncing off the walls by noon. Maybe SE should've had a PS3-only start to begin this phase, just as a precaution? (I'm on pc, so am shooting myself in the foot with that thought, I need a fix here too lol)

Even if I was, I wouldn't be able to leave. The other receptionist is out of the state currently and there's no way the service manager can handle things on his own today.
Besides, being suck here means I just avoid all the normal early beta hiccups typical of the first day.

In previous phases, we got to play early Friday thru early Sunday. So... yea... :(
I'll be glad when they extend the length of the beta in this phase, I was in the same limited-time situation as you before this. I'd like to get a character past lvl 24 one of these times, and see more of the world.
I was hoping for always on servers this phase, but that will probably come once they stabilize them I imagine.
While that would be awesome, it would also mean I'd have to wait to play Last of Us even longer : (

I woke up at 4 am cst and played for 3 solid hours Until maintenance.
