I had the same problem yesterday, because I was inputting my email address instead of my actual username. It even mentions on the instructions link to use your username/nickname to login. Log into SE Account Management and check what your username is and try that. If it's still not working, my only guess would be that it locked you out temporarily for attempting too many times in a short window. Relax, wait a half hour, and try again.

Nope, I'm sorry. You send out a bunch of beta keys to people who were frustrated enough to walk away, and the first thing that happens when they even THINK about maybe giving SE another shot is "username or password is incorrect" for 20 minutes?

This is a very good indication of what's to come.

I should have known better.

I feel your pain, thats why i started to right down all my passwords and usernames, dam you turbo tax!!

I don't even have a play button on my client, even though the worlds are up. Smiley: frown

It eventually says "An error has occurred" and the launcher shuts down.

Suppose I should eat some breakfast and go get my nails done. The first weekend where I am UNEMPLOYED and OUT OF SCHOOL and I can't even get in to play the hell out of this thing. Smiley: lol

Exit and reload the launcher. After several tries I was able to log in.

Did you use the correct user name? It's not your email address.

I've used every known combination of every known username and pasword *AND* actually changed the password to make sure I hadn't forgotten. One should not, however, require a half dozen different logins for one company and one account.

Those are temporary problems

You are correct. HOWEVER: SEcan't afford these kinds of temporary problems if they want to bring estranged players back to the fold. After 3 years and a completely failed first launch, there is a percentage of people that are going to have one problem, say "same fail different day" and go back to their lives.

Maybe I'm missing something, but how is it SE's fault that you have no clue what your username/pw is? Just recover it through the website or support. If it's not working because the system is down *on day 1* then learn to have a little patience as a beta TESTER of the system.

Yeah, I don't think they were quite prepared for the server loads. Oh well, hopefully they can fix it soon.

So maybe having one data center responsible for the entirety of not-Japan wasn't the best of all possible ideas? Smiley: oyvey

At least this is happening now instead of when they launch.

Well, in all fairness, if they were ALL in Japan the situation wouldn't necessarily be any different. But hey, think of this is the 'server load' portion of testing :)
