Exactly, Enough of "Excel Spreadsheets in Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace!" It's the Polar opposite of FF, more a simulator than a game at times. :D Current Skills: 346 (Skill Points: 132,700,341.00) as you can see, I've had quite enough focus there for now, I've set a 40 day skill, /ignore ON.

Really looking forward to having a Co-op game to play with the missus again, not to mention she's pretty damn good at her job, and used to fill in on my character during some of the nastier HNM in 11, when I had to take care of housework or the kids.

Exactly why i left eve...too serious of a game i wanted something less hardcore. (:o 132mil sp not bad not bad at all i had less). Ahhh spreadsheets i will never NEVER delete my Titan or my super capital spreadsheets those things are a work of art if you ask me.

Now onwards to FF it was about time for me to get in a fantasy theme game and FF kicks *** on that aspect! Smiley: grin

Anyone can confirm or deny that?

Yes, they will be. Unfortunately I can't give a link for it.

I'm still messing around in WoW... totally bored with it now tho. Log on/log off within a couple hours when I do. I'll be glad when my sub ends in October and I can put FFXIV-ARR!! as the answer to their poll on why I'm leaving their wonderful world.
Considered loading up Rift since it's FTP now...but...I left it because I got bored with it and that probably hasn't changed. Besides, I'd rather keep as much space on my hard drive pristine and pure for FFXIV.

My gf isn't interested in gaming. She bakes. But, since she grew up with a dad and brothers who play, she doesn't have any serious objections to my living in that world, especially since she's asleep no later than 9 to get up for work at 4. I have free evenings now.
However... my mom will be playing. Smiley: dubiousSmiley: lol
She got into beta 3 and said she wants a different server than I'm on. Should I send her to you guys on Ultros? Smiley: sly

My gf doesn't really bake, but I met her a few days after the PS2 FFXI came out. I was the new store manager of the game store she had her reserve at. She walked into the store and hugged the box. We've been together ever since. ^.^

Betas are being run on weekends currently because they are typically when the largest portion of people can play and also a time when the majority of devs are not tweaking/modifying because, you know, I doubt they work weekends. It's an efficient schedule if you are not performing an open beta. Work on the game during the week, patch it before the weekend, set up your reporting for Monday, flip the on switch and head out for the night.

A closed beta is not marketing. It's not a demo. It's testing. It's meant to see if what they developers have done works, and if it doesn't, it's meant to give the greatest opportunity for it to break spectacularly so the devs can see and fix it prior to minting a ton of discs with broken code/having to roll back progress to correct problems.

They aren't trying to "win you back" right now. That's for the Open Beta and marketing department to do after launch.

Less than 2.5 days until we can play again! That's roughly 57 hours, 3420 minutes, 205,200 seconds. Not that I'm counting or anything

Nope, no withdrawal here! Smiley: sly

I've waited soooo many years for this opportunity. I remember the day XIV was a buzz word in XI. Oh the dreams...

And now not only am I here, I'm able to offer input and scour for defects. It's been a long wait. And I plan to pimp slap this beta all the way up to release!!!

I've been geeking out on The Last of Us for a couple days. I love it, but I have to take breaks. It's too damn nerve racking at times. Has anyone here played it at all? It really is a great game. I don't even know how to describe it, it' one of the greatest games I've ever played. Which is a tall compliment, because I've played a lot of good games, and for this to make it into my favorites list within like 2 days of me playing it is impressive. I really miss FFXIV though, I would rather be playing that. lol

Yes I have been playing the Last of Us and it is really good. Since I have young kids I try to play the game at night. Lol that makes it even scarier.lol When the clickers start that sound and you are sneaking around it makes you want to turn on the lights in the house.

dose that mean that those of us not Legacy/1.0 players can finally post on the official forums then? or is it just an update to the info on the Lodestone so that it no longer has outdated info on it?

edit: fixing my crappy spelling.

I think this means it updates where its like a wiki of sorts that tells you quests and locations plus shows your in game character and stats and stuff.. Not 100% on the details though

*sigh* signed up for Beta as soon as the website for it went online, still no Beta invite. Others have signed up just this week and gotten 3-4 PC keys. Fate conspires against me.

Have never even played 1.0, but I'm getting all sorts of anxious waiting for either a Beta 3 invite or the start of Phase4 >_<

Oh man...snickerdoodles... Smiley: inlove I'd have to request them tho, she's a pastry chef and her 'baking' tends to be experimental. I never know what I'll get to taste-test til it's done.
But yea, my mom played a lot of games on consoles when we were growing up, which usually ended up fairly competitive between the 3 of us. We were all addicted to the FF series. She was interested in FFXI, but didn't have time to play back then. Now that she's just working part-time, she trying this one.

Edit: Whoa, 1000 posts. Took me...a while lol. Feb 5, 2004 was the first. ^^

Sure, the early level grind that was in FFXI is no longer here. But, from what I've seen and read, it will ramp up as the levels get higher. Endgame will still challenge the hardcore. One thing that I noticed while playing other MMO's is that FF players are generally a more mature audience. You're afraid that certain types of players will ruin the quality of your game experience. I think those players will get sorted out in FFXIV. In a game like WoW, for example, you have millions of players...it's much harder to do that there. I don't see this game getting close to WoW's numbers, and that's a good thing.

Long story short--you're underestimating the FF community. There will still be hardcore, work-your-butt-off-to-achieve goodness. Just not in the early levels.

Congrats on 1000! Yeah, snickerdoodles are one of my food vices. My sister in law is a pastry chef too. She does all those crazy decorative cakes like you see on tv. I've watched her work and it's impressive, a true artform.
