Guildleves done with a partyFollow

I had some questions regarding guildleves and how they function within a party. I'm aware you can adjust the difficulty level and mitigate it by having additional party members. Now here is my beef:

1) How many guildleves can an individual perform? Last I checked it was 3. Is this still correct?
2) When an individual initiates a guildleve within a party, does this action also use up one of the leves each party member has? I.E.: Can a party of 4 people do 12 guildleves? Or would that party be limited to three (or whatever the number is) and then have to wait on the cool down?
3) What is the difference between a guildhest and a guildleve?

1) You can have 4 active
2) Everyone has to go get their leves, you may or may not have all the same ones as everyone else. When someone initiates a leve, if you have that leve it is also initiated for you. There is no cool down except for that you may run out of allowances.
3) Not sure, I never did a guildhest.

What do you mean by allowances?

every 8(?) hours you're given more leve allowances. If you run out before the next timer is up you can't do anymore leves. Accepting a leve from the Levemete (NPC who gives them) consumes one allowance.

I think with groups random NMs can pop as well.

1)You build up leve allowances over time. It caps at 99 allowances I think someone might have to verify this. The longer you go without doing leves the more you can do. Once you are out you have to wait to do more.

2) When you do a leve in a party anyone who has the same leve automatically uses theirs as well. The issue with party leves is if you do not have the same ones, which is very likely to happen, the person without it will only get mob xp (100-250xp a kill) people helping get no xp from completing the leve which is where almost all the xp comes from now. Bonus of partys is you can easily crank the leve up to max level and get more bonus xp. But I found the xp/rate is not too good due to the lack of all xp when you do not have the same leves.

3) Guildhest is sorta like a group leve. The rewards for it are much higher in terms of xp and such.

In leves a "wanted mob" can spawn this will give you a big xp bonus. This happens solo or in groups, chest with uncommon gear can also spawn. There is no NM as in XI nms in leves atm. Just slightly stronger mobs which give a gil/xp boost to the bonus rewards at the end of the leve.

Random NMs pop solo, I had the 17 Year Old Gnat NM pop on me twice doing leves in Hawthorne Hut.

Oh good, I'd heard they were only available or more likely to appear when tackled by groups. This is good news then. :)

In phase 2 anyway there didn't seem to be any difference in spawning of NM's when in a group versus solo, however the appearance of treasure chests seemed to be influenced more by groups.

Just don't attack the NM without having full TP and MP (if you're CNJ anyway). He's kinda tough when you're a mage.

Just curious, does the NM show up on your mini-map with the little leve icon like the regular leve mobs, or do you have to find him on your own? Same for treasure chests, is there any indicator on the map or do you just hope to stumble across them?

No indicators for either that I could find. Encourages you to explore the area fully Smiley: smile

The NM is incredibly difficult, and with most leves you sacrifice your speed bonus to kill them (not always). And if you are doing a leve above your level solo, you will most likely not be able to defeat it.

As for the chest, it appears to have about the same chance of spawning. The party thing is just more eyes see more things. I have had times when I had a chest every leve, and times were I did quite a few leves and got zero chests. With both the chests and the NMs there are places where they *ussually* spawn (it looks like ~3 different places per area), Once you get familiar with the areas they spawn at (and it doesn't have to be in the leve circle, as a matter of fact most of the NM spawns are outside of it (which make them easy to identify on your mini map, since they will be a leve target in a location that should not have a leve target...).

They definitely have it now where leves are good filler content, rather than primary content. And are a great alternative to dungeon raids.

Doing leves while waiting for near-by fates to pop, and cleaning house on both (and yes, you can do a fate while you are in a leve, and walk away with exp from both) can give you some really impressive exp. I had just assumed (the people I have seen) mostly like the dungeons, but I personally like the experience of doing leves and fates in groups. It makes a much more fun open world party dynamic...

Is there an easy way to share the leves? Or does your entire party have to obtain it from the levemete?

Everyone has to have the leve flagged, and then it is "Linked". Whether it is linked or not, everyone in your party (in the immediate area) can participate in your leve. Don't remember if you get a consolation bonus like you did in 1.0.

What we would do is everyone get 4 leves, we go complete all of them for everyone, then go back to the Levemete to turn them all in at the same time and get new.

Cool, good to know. I'll make sure I start paying attention for them.
