The timer caught my eye first, I didn't even notice that they put little icons next to each server with what they represent. Now that's awesome.

I've had a widget on my desktop for 3 years now. It has Eorzea time and Leve Reset time with a countdown. Was this yours, Wint?

Yep, I wrote that.

I still have the code, MS has ended support for widgets so I don't know if I'll be updating it. Still might update the Logitech G Series app. I sold my Deathstalker Ultimate or I'd do a Switchblade UI app...

This site is extremely polished, I can't believe how well it's done. I'm checking with our devs to see if we're going to do anything but with that out there I'm almost thinking why bother Smiley: laugh

Hahaha I remember I had it on my desktop for a few days but removed it because it was depressing seeing how long it was until launch

Hey all~

Raynault here from arrstatus.com. Wanted to pop in and say thanks for all the kind words about my little server status page. I started building it as a little personal experiment to teach myself some spiffy web development tricks, and it makes me super happy that some folks have actually found it useful :3

Also, I'm super open to comments/critiques/new ideas/feedback about the site or any other projects like it, so feel free to contact me about it. :D

Cheers,
-R

Thanks for that, in all honesty though it's a tiny bit overwhelming. :x

Either way, I'll keep tweaking the site all the way up to and past launch. :D

Awesome job. I work as a graphic designer, and your page is extremely polished and well designed. I can guarantee I will be using it often and am very thankful that you took the time to design something so nice. As far as suggestions, once the game goes live I'd love to see an in-game clock/calendar implemented.

Thank you :3 /bow /bow

I'll make a note of those suggestions, would be a neat thing for me to tackle.

No guarantees, but I think the next thing I'll be trying to do with the site is make some kind of embed'able widget where a user can choose which servers they'd like on a widget and get some code to paste into their site. Even better, I'd like the widgets to be able to refresh themselves just like my site does every 30sec. A lofty goal for me, so we shall see.

Ill be using it. Oh, I think ill pass it to my LS when I get home too. That should add to your anxiety of keeping up with your practice site, haha. I don't think you have anything to worry about but your own expectations. But what's there is fantastic and anything to come will be just as good, I'm sure.

Great Job!

Awesome site i loved it! Well done mate!

Question though usually the ones i saw had a refresh rate ever few minutes or so why did you choose every 30sec? Doesn't that add some kind of a stress or not?

Like a windows widget, or something web-based? I can share my code for calculating the time in 1.0, I'm sure it's changed though.

Thank you SO much.

Re: patch green light, people can still login and download client software. It makes sense that those two would be the only green lights.

Again, thanks.

Thanks! I'm not sure how other sites have theirs set up, but for mine I just kind of went with the first idea I had of implementing the server status checks, and it allows me to check every 30sec or so (probably faster if I wanted, I just felt 30sec was a decent time). I have an old neglected netbook that is responsible for checking SE's servers every 30sec, and it then uploads the results to my webhost. The page you load at arrstatus.com just pulls from those uploaded results. As far as stress, I could speed up the rate at which my netbook is checking and then have the page refresh faster too, since the load is only really put on my single netbook. That's my (probably horribly inefficient) little system in a nutshell. :3

At this point I'm talking a widget for a website, like for a ls site or fansite to use, etc. A windows widget would be super interesting too though, but probably not something I could tackle anytime soon.
