Has anyone taking a screenshot with the PS3 version? And if so, how do you do it?

So far I don't know if you can. If SE is allowing it then you will need to go into the XMB while in game and go over to the Photos Icon. IF there is an option under the Photos Icon that says Screenshot then that means that SE decided to unlock that feature for this game, if not then you can do the next best thing and snap a picture with your phone or camera.

Normaly on the PS3, without any sort of external device, you could press the PS Button + Start Button at the same time for a screenshot, which would then be saved to Photos > Screenshots. Not all games allow you to take screenshots, however. It's really at the discretion of the developer. They can choose to opt out of allowing screenshots at all.

On the external side, you have a couple of options. You could connect your PS3 to your PC via USB, and use media player to take and save screenshots, which youcould then trasfer back to the PS3 ( This will require HDMI ). There's also a program called Gigapocket, although according to the PS forums, this method may be outdated now. There may be other ways, but im not too sure. I dont really take screens on PS3 as it is lol :P

Edit: I tried posting a URL for that Gigapocket program, but it says URL removed. How doya post link on here anyway? ^^;;

I signed up for it on the FFXIV web site. You have the option for choosing either PC or PS3 or both.

The PS button + Start button hasn't worked for the last few major updates from what I have been able to gather. They moved the option to the XMB for some reason.

Just to let you know I haven't had the option to test that but I did about 8 hours of looking into this earlier this week because I want a SS of my Character for my wallpaper, all that I am informing you of is what I have been able to gather during that (very frustrating due to so much conflicting info) search. I still plan to try both the PS/Start and the XMB option when I can log in... which will have to wait till I get off work. Smiley: cry

Odd I signed up for both and entered my FfXIII preorder key. Never heard anything about Ps3 beta though

Thanks for the replies guys. Smiley: cool

Only 1 hour and 10 minutes till beta. I'll try all these methods when it opens. Hooking my PS3 to cpu via usb seems a bit much, but I know if the methods you guys mentioned above don't work, then I will be placing a question about this to the developers in the beta forums. Smiley: nod

If it does work let me know please. I won't be able to get online until 4 hours after the Beta re-opens. *shakes her fist in the general direction of her workplace*

You have to download the trailer to your system. If you read the full text on the ps3 it says it near the end that you may be selected. Which hints that it isn't an auto beta key. I didn't get one and I signed up and downloaded. For both the pc and ps3 that is.
