As would I. I've thought about trying out archer, but bard doesn't really appeal to me. I'd much rather level a class whose job is also appealing to me.

I started as Pugilist for Phase 3 before I knew classes were city specific. I wanted to start in Limsa Lominsa, but I decided to just go with Ul'dah because I really wanted to start as Pugilist. I haven't done much, but now that I've taken my first airship ride to Limsa Lominsa, I know I definitely want to start there in Phase 4.

It seems story is affected more by what city you start in as opposed to what job your start as(albeit, only slightly). I don't like being Ul'dah's envoy, though. So I'll be starting as Marauder for Phase 4(Unless Limsa gets a third class by Phase 4 that I'm legitimately interested in), but I'll be switching to and maining Pugilist/Monk.

For DoL I'll definitely continue my craft from FFXI and be a Fisherman, and for DoH, I'll be choosing Culinarian.

Can I do this? Is this moot now?

Please include your reasoning si possible! (I.e. "I want to be a tank!" or "I like pointy armor that seems difficult to get off without getting tetanus!")

What job do you expect to be your "main" a month after launch?

Conj for sure, I'll do that for some time till I get to a point when I can open Whitemage. I've all ways been a healer/support and enjoy that aspect of MMORPG's.

In the future I'd like to level Bard for support and which ever classes are healers/support types. Tanking would be the next/last class/job I'd do, though I can tank and have done so for years in Wow, I'd MUCH rather have the responsibility to heal my group/raid than tanking for it.
