I'm just posting this poll out of curiousity. If you created a new character, what level of your main class did you reach by the end of Beta Phase 3?

What is the highest level you reached on your main class with a newly created character?
Level >41 :0 (0.0%)
Level 31-40 :28 (34.1%)
Level 21-30 :27 (32.9%)
Level 10-20 :26 (31.7%)
Level <10 :1 (1.2%)
Total:82

I got to level 22, but I tried to just do a little bit of everything so I could decide how to allocate my time when I get to keep my character.

Now that I think about it, yea it probably is capped at 35. I dont really want to change the poll now that some people have voted.

I have the feeling I can hit 50 before the game launches.

Level 34 on CNJ and 20 in a few crafts. I missed two beta weekends, too. I'd say that's not bad.

Got to 25 on pug, 21 on miner, 16 on goldsmith, and all other crafts 10+. I did the auto-level other DoW/DoM classes to 15, then also level mrd 15-17 and actually did lnc 1-13 before auto-leveling. I wanted to try out as much as possible, and also get a good feel for the crafting/gathering. I'm glad I did, as I now have a much more educated perspective going into launch and know exactly what I want to achieve. The one thing I learned is, if you play a lot of DoW/DoM classes, expect to have to level a lot of crafting classes if you want to make your own gear. Almost every class requires at least 1-2 unique crafts leveled. It's a cool system, it's going to keep me super busy for quite a long time.

The highest level classes I got were 32 THM for adventurer classes, 30 Weaver for Tradeskill and 24 Miner for Gathering skills. I don't know how long the character lodestone page will last, but you can see my character here.

Long time reader here (FFXI 2004-2012) and finally decided to make an account today so I can chat with people who enjoy sharing their interests/concerns along the way. =)

I leveled to 25 as a Lancer and decided to wait until phase 4 to play again. It was hard to leave FFXI but I'm very impressed with this beautiful world and look forward to being a part of this already highly intelligent and helpful community.

I got my Conjurer to level 24, pretty much strictly to get my personal chocobo to fight with. After that I was here, there, and everywhere! Played nearly ever DoW and DoM, and did some DoL... but I never got to DoH, which is just fine because that leaves more to love when the game releases!

To Cadmus: Welcome! Smiley: cookie

I'm tempted to turn my FFXI back on just to ease the pain until release/phase 4 hits.

When you're stuck at home with illness, you sadly have too much time on your hands. That includes leveling right up to 35, too, on Lancer.

It did seem sort of silly, though. I mean the final dungeon caps you at 34 for one, and there was literally no existing gear anywhere that was 35. And if there was it wasn't as good as GC or Dungeon gear ranging from 30-32, either.

Still, gave me something to do just to see how the grind would feel overall.

I going to miss the free warp from /stuck when the game starts up.

My sig has a link to the lodestone with most of the levels (it doesn't up date totally). I just don't remember. I ran out of inventory and just started throwing stuff out that I made crafting. I think its a total of 40 items you can put up on the ah with both retainers.

Thanks! That was a delicious cookie.

Great 1000th post btw. FFXI experiences in relation to the start of this game are interesting to read. To me it's much different but in a good/promising way.

I did try GLD to 15 as well but I got a lot more enjoyment out of LNC. During Duty Finder I found out a lot of cool tricks tanks use that I wouldn't have known about.

20 on my GLD.

The other jobs were LNC, ARC and Goldsmith. Those were 10-15.

I purposefully didn't want to do Ifrit; just wanted to save that for P4/release.

I had fun with all of the jobs I played and in Gridania as well. I was surprised. I thought I was going to start in Ul'dah for sure, but now I don't know.

Phase 2 I stopped at 34 lancer and the of others at 20.

Phase 3 I played with my Legacy Character who had a 50 Lancer to test the waters. Took my Maurader form 8 to 15 to test how Duty Finder worked for Tanking classes.

32 Marauder, 22 Thaumaturge, and 16 Blacksmith...

Had a lot of fun, enjoyed my server, and was surprised I didn't have to report many bugs.

Without using the instant-level NPC's, 32 Conjurer and 16 THM. with most of the last 6 levels on CNJ done by Chaning FATEs for giggles.

Just running in and healing my little brains out on Nununowi was earning me 14k EXP + 300 seals and gil!

I got to 18 on GLD. I didn't get to play that much, but it's cool as I didn't really want to experience all the content before I actually started playing.

I only made it to level 15. Spent a lot of time exploring the cities and getting a handle on the game itself and figuring out what I wanted to focus on.

I got my "main" test character to lv:15 Conjurer/lv:14 Thaumaturge. Did more traveling than actual leveling. My highest level character was my lv:17 Gladiator.

Basically only had an hour and a half at night to run around with a friend on my Conjurer, and an hour or so in the morning to go at it solo with my Gladiator. Made me like tanking more than healing, for probably the first time ever... lol

Pushed THM to 22 to get GC access etc., see how that worked. Also 13 MIN & 21 GSM, for DoH/DoL practice, and other miscellanous things <10 for tasters. Got to see some of the balancing & depth in the crafting system. Loved juggling durability, quality, progress, CP & condition all at once. Settled into patterns for each item (esp. consumables) after a few attempts, but figuring out how to balance CP use with touches, observing & mending was a nice challenge. Can definitely see myself wiling away time crafting, but it was clear that post-20 GSM will need a similar level MIN to function, without large gil resources.

Also made a separate MRD for poops & giggles - really enjoyed the playstyle, even if the WS were lacking in oomph. Completely left Grid alone apart from CNJing long enough for Cure, as I will be a career DRG come live, so wanted to save the best for last Smiley: wink.
