meh... good thought behind it but i think clouds suit is for cloud alone... especially his sword! they took that a lil to far... IMO

My guess would have to be yes, XIII and XIII-2 both had the same combat system.
Edit: Nevermind, I just saw on that page it said the battle system has been changed. You now only control Lightning and nobody else.

i'm going to assume they will use the ff12 gambit type of system to control the other 2 people? With greatly improved gambits i hope. Although the gambit system was pretty robust i still found it limiting for some of the things i wanted to do. Like, if i wanted 2 characters to heal someone, i couldn't set which one would have heal priority, they would both try to cure bomb someone.
Unless those 2 people aren't really in your party and you don't get to control them at all. Either way, i can't wait to see more of it!

Cloud's suit is the SOLDIER outfit, worn by most SOLDIER operatives, and the Buster sword was originally Angeal's. Then he died and Zack took it. Then Zack died and Cloud took it. I feel like Cloud has no honest claim to either. Cloud never even made it into SOLDIER. And the Buster sword gets packed away forever once you can steal a Hardedge.

Oh okay, I was gonna say I played FFVII about 17-18 years ago, and couldn't remember half of those details lol.
Actually, that information about the Buster Sword is revealed from the PSP game Crisis Core, not the core FFVII game itself. Angeal is only in CC. I haven't seen Last Order or played Before Crisis, so I'm not sure if Angeal is mentioned in either of those spin-offs. Funny that Cloud is essentially dissociative and here we have Lightning taking on someone else's identity by way of a costume change.
That reminds me, I would love to see Crisis Core for the Vita, my PSP's screen is shot 
Yeah, I'd love a version for the Vita, perhaps with trophies. My Vita doesn't get much use these days. I'd buy Crisis Core for it without a doubt.
I'm mostly trying to get the last 3 trophies for Hot Shots Golf and waiting for FFX and X-2 to come out on it.
Crisis Core was a great game for the PSP, albeit a bit repetitive at times. Still a must play for FF fans regardless.

I also wonder if there is a tie in somewhere from her game to get people to think about FFXIV. Who knows, they are surely trying to market the FF product better and cross game appearances is one way to do it.

I would be far, far more interested if it was a total Cloud reskin over Lightning, although if the battle victory music changes too, that might be worth it by itself. I've got a lot of memories of that music, farming All Materia's to sell so I can train up my chocobo to fly out and grab Knights of the Round. I've probably heard that song more than any other by the time I finally finished collecting all the materia's, powering them up, and finally killing all the Weapons.
