ATTN: PS3 preorder FFXIV gamestop people...Follow

#1 Aug 01 2013 at 6:07 PM Rating: Decent
I just had a conversation w/ a gamestop employee that knew what he was doing. He said they are sending preorder codes in waves and the people that preordered them early will usually already have got a code. If you do not get a code for early access right away don't get your panties/boxers in a wad, they will send you a code by email before early access. If they don't send you one Square Enix will send you one before the 20th or after phase 4 beta. Just make sure Gamestop has your correct email, cuz they are the one's that gives Square Enix your email when you preorder it.

Just in case it is relevant to anyone else. I preordered online from EB games in Australia (for the PS3, already have CE for PC) and had to phone customer support with Order confirmation number. After phoning they email out the early access code for you to put into your SE account.

Mine is already done, now the final wait begins.....

Yeah, pre-ordered from EBGames in Canada here (same company as GameStop). Sent an e-mail to support after waiting for a week with no code. They sent me one right away. Then a couple weeks later they sent me another one. Smiley: lol

Hello, a Gamestop employee here :)

While I am not sure about them sending codes in waves, there are times where our codes print on the receipt automatically and times where the employee has to input the SKU or find our backup codes in the search system. Majority of codes given out as a preorder premium automatically print on the receipt (this has been happening for more than a year, so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of employees don't know it is possible to manually find the codes.)

Gamestop only runs out of codes if the particular SKU is removed from the system or if Gamestop actually tells the employee that they've runs out (in this case, the computer says something along the lines of "we have exhausted our supplies")

To have them find it, have them search for "backup xiv" in our system and add it into the transaction. If for some reason they can't find the code, have them input SKU 501972.

Good luck! :D

Glad you said that because I was going to point out that I got my codes on the receipts when I preordered both the copy for me and the copy for my partner (a little gift from me to her) from Gamestop.

My friendly gamestop employee hooked me up in precisely this manner when my code did not appear on the receipt.

Wont they just email me the code like that gamestop employee said?... or do I have to go thru the process you are speaking of.

I actually went to Gamestop after reading somewhere on here that you could get the code on the receipt.

I asked the girl a lot of questions. She was very helpful and sounded like she knew about the game. Anyway, I ordered to e-copies (one for me and one for wife). She made sure that I got both codes since only one code printed on the receipt. She went in and did something to print the other. So if you get two, make sure you get both receipts with both codes.

Just called gamestop back.... all gamestops will not get codes for you on the spot, but square enix will get you the code on or before the 20th. Check your www.poweruprewards.com account in the digital locker also. It will appear there if gamestop gets the code from square enix.
