Well Yoshi has his reasons and it seems some here like the new direction of fishing. Oh well, this is one craft I won't be touching when I start. I wanted to do culinarian but not if you have to fish some. Do any of the craft classes still have mini games?

Not so much a mini-game as a careful selection of abilities to choose from and use. See BartelX's crafting guide. http://ffxiv.zam.com/forum.html?forum=152&mid=1376322901221976489

If the fish you catch is bound to you and you can use them for ingredients, baits, etc. Then i am satisfied with that and will enjoy fishing.

I have a sneaking suspicion that when we actually get to try fishing, we will find that a lot of the QQ'ing since the last Letter from the producer is somewhat unfounded.

I think there has been a translation issue or misinterpretation of what fishing involves. For example, I still strongly suspect that fishing will support Culinarian despite people who claim to know for 100% fact that it wont. How do you know? Because Yoshi P said it will not affect the economy? I'm not sure that means it cant support other crafts.

As with every little tidbit of information released, it is pored over, analysed, critiqued and interpreted and I am pretty sure Y-P does not anticipate half of the reaction caused when he provides a simple answer to a question.

Play the game - and then if you hate fishing and find it pointless get angry. No point getting angry until you have something to get angry about.

Whilst on that point, same goes for making Crystal tower "easier". We dont know for certain it wasnt impossible before, so they made it "easier".

Agreed (where's the +1 button?). We've seen the recipes disappear for turning fish into crystals, and that was the biggest abuse. I can't imagine you won't be able to sell fish to Culinarians.

Original dev post in French, but Google translated:

The Labyrinth will Bahamuth content of 8 players. It will be the most difficult content to 8 players and the level will be extremely high.
Cristal Tower will be 24 players with different levels of difficulty.

Seems to be a theme, dungeons with multiple difficulty levels.
