This link is in Japanese to me. Did you get this through our email or is it just available from Beta forums or something?

Its JP, but it is the same client. you pick your language when you download it.
I'm not trying to disrespect you or anything but how do I know I can trust this?
Norton says its safe but when I go to try and install it after the language selection it does nothing....can you show me the source forum please?

That is not the client but the downloader for the actual client.
Did you run it - did it install ok?

I downloaded it but didn't try to install it as of yet. Being you're having issues is making me wonder, there is nothing on the official forums on any side. With some digging around on sites here is the main Japanese version for it (http://jp.finalfantasyxiv.com/) notice the jp is in front of the link. The link in here has it near the end. I will wait until i see this from a official source before trying to install it.

It's very strange though. They having problems downloading on the official forums and when you do get the link it is strangely slow.
I run file the file as admin, get a install which language option, see a quick flash of FFXIV install screen then nothing. After quite a few minutes I get the FFXIV ARR installation screen.

for what it's worth, I just ran the installer, and it worked fine for me. I now show the same screen you have in the launcher.

Yes it's great to get the latest stuff but some of the threads there.......
Honestly, count yourself lucky that you are able to use other forums such as ZAM as the people on here are pretty quick at posting anything new anyway :)
