Deciding on servers?Follow

My 1.0 char is on Excalibur. I made a char on the Goblin server in P3. Mainly because they were annoying in FFXI. I'll probably make my new char on that server.

I got talked into Hyperion by a few 1.0 friends who are splintering between there and Ragnarok, but now I'm starting to wish I went to Ultros. Most of the people I liked are sticking to EU, and I don't feel like doing the lag thing anymore.

Ultros for myself and about 8 other friends I plan to game with. I still have 1.0 characters on Hyperion as well, but I doubt I'll play em. Looking forward to the "fresh start".

It's a good thing there are 10,000 level 5 mobs. Really, they packed the starter areas full to the brim.

I wonder if they populate the open world mob respawn rates ala WoW. The more people, the higher the respawn rate.

It's pretty darn quick. I didn't count, but if I were to guess, 30 seconds or so. Maybe less.

It just seems like a lot of people will be going to Ultros because so many people from this forum will be going there together... not that it's necessarily going to be a heavily populated server overall.

I think they chose Ultros for the opposite reason, because it's not supposed to be as crowded as some other servers like Leviathan, Diabolos, or Behemoth since it's an unfamiliar name and bottom on the list, but I could be wrong.

Yea could be. I have like somewhat of an equal number or people picking either Ultros or Leviathan on my facebook group for FFXIV, then I have a few going to other servers or legacy ones. Of course I've only got 69 members atm (and growing)! But these names are the ones brought up the most when I asked if everyone had decided where they wanted to go. Right now I'm leaning on Ultros because I do like the ZAM community and wouldn't mind going there at all, but then I do like Leviathan, not so much because the name is cool but because Leviathan itself just looked bad@$$ and catches my interest as a fight in the game =) And it probably is likely to be a populated server, which isn't a bad thing in my book. I don't mind big population, but I also like getting to know fellow players individually too.
