My download time was 115 minutes when I walked out of the door...I'm assuming there are a lot more people on PC hammering the connection than on PS3...or you have awesome internet...or some combo of both

I am stuck here at work ; . ;

Edit: Phew, I was able to call my better-half and have her start my download before she left for work.
She said both mine and her's connection was holding steady at 1.9-2.1 mb/s.

So you can only start the download if you're in the closed beta?

When I tried to start mine, I got the error: "There are no valid service accounts."

Hm when I started mine it asked me first if I already had a SE account but there was also an option if you didn't. Did you go that far?

"[NA PS3 Version] Version Update Issue (Aug. 15)
Right now we are experiencing technical difficulties on North American PlayStation®3 version where an error message saying "No valid service account is available to play FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn." when players press the login button on the launcher and they are unable to complete the version update.

We are currently addressing this issue with a cooperation of Sony Computer Entertainment and new updates will follow as additional information becomes available.

Please note that this issue is only occuring on the North American PlayStation®3 version. The Windows version, and Japanese/European PlayStation®3 version, are unaffected.

We deeply apologise for any inconvenience."

That's what mine asked. I tried signing in with my account, then it told me that I had not valid service accounts.

Played Version 1.0
Legacy Campaign members
Registered a Beta Test registration code by Tuesday, July 30, 2013 9:59 p.m. (PDT) / Wednesday, July 31, 2013 4:59 a.m. (GMT)
Received a PlayStation 3 promotion code in the days before the start of Beta 4 testing

These are the players eligible to Enter Phase 4 on August 16th.

For anyone else, the registration for Open Beta starts again either on Saturday the 17th, or possibly tonight at 2:00am CST (they may re-open sign-ups right at the start of P4).

For PC, it seems to be the case that the Launcher will not start the Client Download yet if you are not eligible for starting on the 16th. How could we verify that?

"A problem occured while updating.
Please restart Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (Beta Version)
[11006][20641][20643]"

3 times in a row now. Their error messages are still cryptic and uninformative. Had this problem in all 3 betas and posted it in the beta forums all 3 times with no dev response.

Old phase 3 client was uninstalled a week ago. Running as admin. No patch files present in the \downloads\ folder. I'm not sure whats going on here bit this is getting annoying.

I am not sure this is correct, my GF started our downloads before she went to work. We are both 1.0 players, she has been in all the beta's, I have not been in any of the betas, yet I am still able to start the download.

Maybe this will work for you?

Thanks for posting this! More info is always good. The troubleshooting continues...

EDIT: Oh wait, see you are 1.0 player, which makes you eligible for the 16th access according to the listed criteria.

It's the people that are not eligible for he 16th access that seem to be locked out of the PC Client Download for now.

/comfort Ehllfire. Sorry to hear it.
I find it odd that I am able to download it even though I was never in any of the beta's. Maybe I can download it because i'm a 1.0 player?????

Well there was nothing in the patch folders so thats not it. My anti-virus is disabled and the only firewall I have up is the basic windows one. I'll try disabling that to see if it works.

So, does this mean i can start tomorrow??? I thought i had to be in the previous beta's along with being a 1.0 player and legacy. I am not sure I am a legacy player either.

This guy seems to know how to fix the problem. Seems it really comes down to getting all the .patch flies out of you My Documents folder.

Quote:
What should I do?
If you're running XP, go to the following folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\YourCleverUsername\My Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn (Beta Version)\downloads\ffxivpatch\2eeb0f4c\patch

If you're running Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8, go to the following folder:
C:\Users\YourCleverUsername\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn (Beta Version)\downloads\ffxivpatch\2eeb0f4c\patch

There will be a file there named D2013.01.15.0000.000number.patch where number is "0", "1", "2", etc. The patches download in numeric order. If you see a file here named D2013.01.15.0000.0001.patch, congratulations - you've installed D2013.01.15.0000.0000.patch successfully.

When you get this error, go to the above folder and delete the .patch file. Upon doing so, log back into the launcher and it'll try the download again.

Yes, they recently expanded the criteria for players who can play on the 16th.

Set my alarm to get back up to download it... Thank Altana that it's only 7.3GB. with my .17MB/s I should have it done before I get home from work tonight and it starts. Too bad my g/f is out of state and won't be able to start the download till later. hopefully she gets home soon.

1.5Mbps ftw.
