As the count-down winds-down, I'm having a tough time making my final decision about my name. The last name is really throwing a wrinkle into my scheming.

Anyone else in this situation?

It threw me off for a few hours, then I ended up with a name I really liked.

I lucked out by actually having a last name attached to my first choice of character name. I just never get to use it because games don't ask for it.

Definitely an issue though. I have a buddy who'll literally spend hours thinking up a name for a new character... two names? He'll be at it for days.

Gives me something to do until tomorrow morning...

Have fun this weekend!

Easy way around this conundrum for me is create several characters at launch, then see which I get tired (of the name) first, then delete the excess. Requires OCD

Yeah, I've always used "Arkenea" As my online handle and this whole surname business Is throwing me for a loop. I can't think of anything that sounds good. Half considering just splitting the name to "Ark Kenea" But.. I dunno if I'm really happy with that...

I'd call you "Ark". It'd be easy to type. I'm sure most people call you "Ark" for short anywho. I'd go with that.

I'm in the same boat!

Finally found a name that I kind of like almost as much as Thayos, but the last names... just don't mesh as well.

Yeah that's what everyone ends up calling me anyways.

And with the other upvote on splitting my name to Ark Kenea, I guess I am happy, Wooooo!

I have the same problem also, if you want to be really super lazy just make a title your first name like:

Lord Theone
King Theone
Captain Theone
Commander TheOne
etc

I've been procrastinating with my character plans. Still haven't settled on race, clan, looks, or name. Perhaps I'll sort that out tonight.

Y'all are thinking too hard. Sirhan Sirhan. Or, fictionally, St. John St. John.

Sseffaroth Sseffaroth has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

Im personally just going to use my middle name for a last name but it sounds a bit weird having first and last name start with the same letter like: (example)

jimmy johnson/ obama obnada( lol cant think of anything else on the spot)

As long as you don't make "Dark" your first or last name, you'll be fine in my book lol

I plan on using combinations of the names of my WoW characters. I've found 3 combos that I really like. My 1.0 char's name will stay the same though.

Hadn't thought of using ranks or titles as a first name, that will make the name I had chosen work for certain. Curious though, how do achievement titles (assuming they exist) work? Do they appear as part of your name or above/below?

You can always just split that name into two.

Gil Thanas or Gilt Hanas

I just took my First name that I always use for an FF mmo and then took the first subject I heard while watching tv and got my last name. Artega Domovoi.
I was watching Celebrity ghost stories and the lady on tv was talking about some house guardian spirit that protected her family home in Ukraine. Personally, I think they went well together.

You know, I was thinking about doing that but there's one thing you might be overlooking here.. the word "Gil" is the term for money in Final Fantasy, so it'd be like calling myself Money lol
