Indeed 1.0 CE folks just get the items, not early access.

Talk about being shafted, so my options of getting early access is to buy a PS3 key and link it to my account on the lodestone then?

Yeah but for a person who is stuck in a house with nothing much to do 4 days ain't bad also considering it will give me 1 month of prepaid game time.

SO lets say I preorder the PS3 version. I have a PS3 not crazy about playing on the PS3 though.

But by pre-ordering that and linking it to my current account will I have to play on the PS3 to get early access or will it also unlock it on my PC copy.

This makes me wonder about our in game items.

For example, I pre-ordered the CE for ps3, a physical copy. Will codes come with my physical copy to unlock the ingame swag? Or will it be based on the early access key?

So should I buy the PS3 copy via PS Store or online from the advert in the launcher?
I'm just wondering how this will link into lodestone account if I buy it on the PS Store.

So what happens if you apply a pre order key to a 1.0 account? Windows version I mean not PS3.

They are two different things.

The pre-order items are tied to the pre-order code you get by e-mail, and you can register them starting on the 20th.

The CE 1.0 items are already sent to all characters (old and new) via mog mail for owners of 1.0 CE.

The CE 2.0 items will be sent for free to all characters (old and new) via mog mail to owners of the 1.0 CE, probably on release day.

For owners only of 2.0 CE, I guess it'll be a code on a piece of paper with the physical game like it was back in 1.0.

So if I pre order from the PS store, does it send me the code in an email?

Nope. Apparently the code is included in your purchase and it's all automatic. That's probably the reason why you need to link your PSN account to your SE account the first time you start the game.

The surefire way to get a pre-order code is to go in person to a Gamestop and not leave without that code printed on your receipt.

Yeah I have to go out to get groceries guess I can swing by the gamestop a few block over as well.
At this point would it have to be the PS3 version or could I get the code for a PC one?

I have the 1.0 CE for PC.

If you pre-order for PC, the problem is that you won't be able to register the product code (the one that will be in the box) to your current SE account. That won't keep you from playing early, or playing at all of course because you already own the game. But you'll lose the 30 days that would have come with your new purchase. Hence why many people pre-order the PS3 version even if they don't intend to play on it.

So, if I purchase and want to add a pre order key to my 1.0 account for the Windows version, what will happen?

Just got back from 4 different locations none of them were able to provide a pre-order early access code with purchase.

Needless to say I didn't buy anything.
Bestbuy, Future Shop, EB Games, Game Stop. (Yes I'm Canadian)

So my question now is how are people getting early access to the game? All these shops told me they were releasing the code on the day of release with the product, August 27th.

I think the flowchart may be a little outdated. It says for a CE 1.0 holder you can buy anything for the early access. However the information provided here seems to contradict that in that SE account management won't allow a second PC code to be entered.

My situation is I own 1.0 CE, am most likely not legacy, and I purchased a digital PC standard version for the pre-order code. I'm hoping the pre-order code is separate to the game code so I can use that for early access and give the game code to a friend. Otherwise I may have to go and buy the PS3 version.

You do not have early access if you only paid for one month. Early access is only 4 days so I wouldn't worry about it.

You cannot add another copy of the Windows client to your account, but you can add a PS3 version, which will add 30 days of game-time. That's in addition to the 14 you'll get for free anyways for being a 1.0 player.

Its not even 4 days, only 3. The 24th, 25th and 26th. The 27th is launch, so yeah, not even worth it, especially at this point.
