I didn't get to play as much as I'd liked. Still, got PUG to 15 & LNC to 12 so I can get DRG eventually. Also unlocked BTN, CRP, LTW for my DoL/DoH classes. CRP & LTW were no-brainers since most of my gear seems to be made of wood & leather; BTN was for raw materials for CRP.

I can see getting those two jobs to 20 easily, the queue times were probably very quick... or did you go with mainly pre-made groups?

CNJ pops were instant or a couple minutes tops, GLD even quicker (I swear I'd get a pop before I even hit Join queue in DF :) ). I only ran Sash and TTD once with ZAM folks.

How did you find crafting leveling speeds?

Edited, Aug 19th 2013 10:59am by Krycis

Not bad. First 10 levels are a cakewalk, can be done in probably 30 minutes. The next 10 take considerably longer. I did the entire crafting log to 20 (minus 2 items I couldn't get mats for), and doing that PLUS making a bunch of extra items out of my mining mats took me halfway through 18. The pacing isn't bad though, it's still 10,000x better than the pacing of crafting in 1.0.

Absolutely. I'll prob be running dungeons most of the weekend to get geared up and just become a better tank, so I'm in whenever.

Hey Bartel, you plan on going WAR tank right?

Perhaps we could get something going in the long-term as I'm going with PLD when EA hits. I smell a successful 8man group brewing.

Didn't get to play as much as I wanted due to work and what not... but wow this game is a huge improvement from FFXI. I got my Puglists to lvl 14 right before the maintenance began lol... literally 1 minute left then logged out at a sanctuary. I love the quests, fighting, how u can party, graphics, gameplay all in all. This game will be a great success.

Absolutely. Maybe this weekend we can make a Free Company and start inviting those who'd want to do stuff on a more scheduled basis. I'm not up for anything too hardcore, but I'd love to do some events a couple nights a week, and eventually endgame content.

Sounds like a plan to me. A couple nights a week would be just about perfect, actually. I find that if you try and do nothing but push endgame, you get burnt out on it much faster.

We can look into it this weekend.

I didn't get very far at all this time around due to work schedule. PUG to 14 and that's all. However it was a nice change of scenery as Phase3 was spent in Gridania

Am I the only one seeing something wrong on this? I had friends that played 6 hours and got lvl 17, other played 4 and got to lvl 15 that cuz the server problems thay couldn´t get farthest. Now seeing how far you guys got in 1 weekend and prolly 20-40 hours of game I can imagine getting to lvl 50 in 3 days (20 hours of game). Doubt that at start game will have an End-Game or if it has one it will be large enough to keep ppl playing for two months. First big patch will come in november and everybody will have nothing to do since most or all job/classes will be 50 already and even if SE adds a big end-game ppl will finish it in 1 or 2 months and doubt there will be another big patch by that time.

I couldn't play this weekend cuz server problems and only played till lvl 4, just did the part on the city and 2 quests outside, mostly Cutscenes and npc talks.

You're assuming the XP curve is linear, it's not. It's exponential.

Not sure if this is still accurate but it's probably close (it's correct for level 20 I know).

Hmm was able to get my conj to lvl 13 just before my 3102 error. Was able to get back on this morning briefly with just enough time to get to a sanctuary for a rested xp bonus. I played a whole bunch of other characters but I only wanted to play my legacy conj which I couldn't for a very long time. Ohh well good thing I have plenty of patience and thank goodness this was a beta error and not a live error.

The first 20 levels are quick. After that it slows down quite a bit because you don't have quests driving your experience. You can grind out Leves if you have saved enough allowances, or you can dungeon crawl/xp party, but I remember the mid 20's going slower requiring more time. There was a "level to 30" NPC for a reason, so they could accelerate players to test the content they'd provided skipping past a few more grindy late-20s levels.

Wow nice!!!

I still need copperbell and ifrit too, maybe we can grab a couple more folks from the LS and run those on Saturday! It's my birthday so... that would be an awesome birthday present :)

Oh you're Meat Mithkabob! I remember seeing you walking around when I was out mining. I was like, "That's an awesome name." I've seen a few XI reference names so far.

Thanks!

Yeah I had to be super secretive about what my name was going to be for the past few weeks... so many people out there (not zam people in particular) but people in general would have taken it before I could get logged in on Friday... I did talk a little bit in LS chat but not a ton this weekend.

I was all over the place so you could have seen me just about anywhere. Big Galka (Roegadyn) named "Meat Mithkabob" is kind of hard not to notice :)

Copperbell was significantly easier than I thought it would be. The slime wasn't all that hard and the adds that try to kill the bombs were easy and few in number. Now, when Don Fletcher (Frozen Sherbet) told us all to zerg the final boss and dont worry about the guys beating on the walls, I was a little panicked, especially when there were 10 on screen. But about that time the zerging kicked in and we made it through. Cool experience Smiley: nod

It seemed exponential. It takes some work, but when you get 2000-3000xp for fates (+ mob kills 100-200 a piece) 1000-2000 for leves (depending on speed and whether you kill the extra wanted target), and 1000-4000 for general quests, you can get up there at a decent pace. The fates pop up every few minutes or so, and you can keep repeating the same leve over and over. I believe that to get to level 20 it was near 40000xp for that one level so chalk it up to the fact that most of us who actually got in to play were grinding our hind ends off (personally my wife was very cool during my little teleportation into Eorzea and I made her dinner and did housework all weekend to show her I appreciated it). I will not grind nearly that hard when the game releases.

Then it worries me more, cuz now ppl is happy that they lvl fast and don't need to grind exp like XI or other games do, what will happen when ppl feel that to lvl 20-50 is a chore? I like ZAM cuz ppl really responds posts, in beta forums is a lot of hatters/white knights stuff, no valid points there really. I like the game, I have my V1.0 CE and gonna play it, I want it to be succesful, want to made memories, thing I did in XI and XIV 1.23. Maybe these betas are too short to feel that but my worries are there.

We had a death, but still won. The player was raised before the final coffer was opened. In general with FATES and Dungeons targeting mobs hasn't improved much. I tried some macros and guess they were the wrong one's.
Something to work on either before EA or after.
