PS3 Early Access, this is how you checkFollow

#1 Aug 21 2013 at 2:43 PM Rating: Excellent
As the process is confusing for the PS3, this is how you check to make sure you're ready for early access. Go ahead and power on the PS3 and follow these instructions. First you need to enter your new code by going to the http://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com for your region. Once you plugged in the code, you'll get the second code for Early Access. I don't think you need to install the file again as it's the same client from open beta. Next follow the instructions below.

Under the PlayStation Network icon...
1. Go under Account Management.
2. Then Transaction Management.
3. And finally, Services List.

Once you do this, you'll see FFXIV ARR. Press X and you should see both Early Access and Open Beta slots.

I hope this helps, I feel better now that this worked for me. If you press X again under Early Access, you'll see 1 remaining which appears to note that you can only use this once.

Added this from Phoenix's post.
If you prefer to check online instead, go to https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/cam/media/media-list.action

Thanks Shadowegde. This is very clear and concise confirmation. As someone who has been stuck at work all day and no access to my PS3 I have been pouring over these forums trying to figure out exactly what I need to do.

So did you enter your PSN code for the download and just cancel the download? Or would both the EA and Open Beta services already on your system?

That's for checking on the PS3. If you go online it's different. You need to go to transaction history, and under your purchase (the one that says "service") you'll see the early play.

I would assume so, but you can check if you wish. This transaction screen is where check online passes such as DLC or digital games ordered. I had Ducktales right below FFXIV ARR.

No problem, I've been struggling myself to find answers until now. It appears to work like any other online pass for DLC.

Nope, I downloaded the client( which had the same date as open beta) just to see if anything new happened. It was a waste of time and nothing happened. It appears once you enter the code, you're good to go. You can check if you like before you try the download. I really doubt it though. The client was identical. It didn't even replace the old client from 8/14/13.

Stupid question perhaps as I don't actually own the PS3 (it's my roommate, just created another account), are we able to merge the PS3 and PC accounts yet? I know we can create a 'link' on the SE members account page but I seriously doubt that's it.

I ask due to having two accounts from 1.0 and wanting to be sure the right one is getting EA.

I really doubt it. I can't even find my PS3 account on my account at SE's management website. I think once the game goes live, that will change.

OK, so just to confirm for other PS3 users. I have my PSN code after redeeming my 6-3-6-3 code on the SE website. I have not yet entered it into PSN. Checked my services list and it only has open beta listed. I am going to now go in and apply the PSN code... will edit in a minute with results.

Edit: To confirm with Shadowegde's information. I registered my code and the EA pops up on my services list. Going to cancel the download since I still have the client from open beta.

Edit2: Checked the download list on PSN - it doesn't even show today's client as a separate item to download. Pretty sure if you have the open beta client you do not need to download the 6GB file again.

Update

I received my email finally this morning. You'll be glad to know that the goodies were included with this code automatically. Here is the response from them.

Square Enix wrote:

Here is your PlayStation Promotion Code that will allow you to download the game from the PS Store, grant you early access to FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn as well as the Cait Sith Doll Minion and Mog Cap in-game bonus items at the start of official service.

The number they gave me was the same one that I received from logging in the pre-order site. The rest of the information they included is instructions.

Ok, so here's my big question. I bought the PS3 version of the game, registered my early access code for the PS3, and downloaded the client last night. However, I would also like to play early access on my PC. It is the same account with services, so will I just be able to log in via PC, update the client, and play EA? I ask because this morning when I went to log in on PC, it said I didn't have early access on this account. Is this just because the client update isn't available yet? Any help is much appreciated.

This saved me a ton of agony last night. I had input my password already and was already downloading and at 40% when I read this. I then canceled my download (since I already had beta 4 client) and went and checked in Account Management and sure enough, early access was listed. I would have never have found this. Thanks ShadowedgeFFXI!

I would like to know this as well, unfortunately I don't think we will be able to play on our PCs until the game officially goes live.

I've got a couple questions about all of this as well. I pre-ordered PS3 CE from SE a few months ago. I got a confirmation email shorthly thereafter with my 18 digit code, along with instructions on registering my game, i.e. the link that only recently went active. In the email, it stated that I would receive another email when I could register for EA and all that jazz. I also recently received an email confirming that my order had shipped. My questions are:

1. All of the people who have successfully registered, did you receive the email telling you to register, prior to entering your code.
2. For those of you who did not receive emails, were you able to successfully enter the code and access PSN for EA?

Thanks & apologies if this isn't clear.Smiley: smile

Hi, you need to BUY a seperate pc version if you want to play on pc. I don't have the link, but I did read it in the FAQ's. I remember thinking that it was same as in FFXI, since I played on ps2 and wanted to play on my laptop, I purchased a pc version.

You still log in with the same SE user name and pw, but you need to register the pc code first.

Hope this helps, if I come across the FAQ again, I'll put a link here.

1) No, I just received the email this morning with the same code as last night. It appears it doesn't matter.

2) I was able to confirm the EA worked prior to receiving the email as I mentioned in my original post.

I ordered my pre-order months ago just like you. I logged on to the pre-order website on the day I reserved the game and SE promised to send an email when the time came. I got a reminder email around the 1st of August that they'd be sending a code soon as we drew closer to the EA. The pre-order site went live and people registered before the email some of us got this morning. My code(in my email this morning) is the exact same code as yesterday. Does this help?

That is correct. only in beta were you allowed to do both. Now you will need a retail package for the PC and the ps3 just like in FFXI.. Your charterer will be able to be played on both you just have to have a copy of the game for both.

If it helps at all, I pre-ordered mine through amazon. Received an email shortly after with the long code, and have received no further emails besides the ones giving me access to beta. I was able to use the long code to get my PSN code, download the client, and now have my early access showing on my ps3. Still have not received any further emails, but I think I'm good to go. A litter confused about the items still, but I'm guess that comes with the physical bits.

I bought FFXIV through the PSN on the 14th of this month and was able to play Beta 4 with no problems. I have Early Access under my Services List but when I click on the EA there is no number after "Remaining." Should I be concerned?

So I start up my PS3, go into the Playstation Store, go to redeem codes, enter the 12 digit Early Access Code that SE gave me and I get "This code is no longer valid or may be incorrect." I double check the numbers and letters, and attempt again and get the same thing. Decided to try it through Account Manager and I got the same thing. If I look at my Services List, it appears as though all that I have is the Open Beta FFXIV.

Anyone else unable to enter their 12 digit PS3 code? Could it be that I'm in NA and I got an EU code (seems to have happened to people)? Any idea how I can tell if I have an EU code or an NA one?

Thanks a bunch...

Same deal I checked my list I have the beta, early access, and collectors editions listed. Only on the beta does it have a "1 remaining" on the other two they have both things listed as "-". I tried the square redeem site but the "redeem code" button does not seem to be functioning or its greyed out after clicking "PS3" for the system. All three things are listed under the sony menu though, I'm not sure if I should be doing something else. I did not receive an email regarding early access, just for a beta code last weekend when I wanted to try it.
