Those are some crazy strict forum rules. Worse than the beta forums.

Oh, thread and post restrictions with your char level. That's a new for me. Don't mind it all that but I thought it was kinda strange. But what I don't like is that I have to wait 15min to make a second post. Like conversations in different threads is out of the question "gotta make this 1 post count!!"

I wonder if they still have the rule that if you say anything bad about or criticize any aspect of their company or games you get banned. I found that email to be quite amusing.

Quote:

Relevant sections from the FINAL FANTASY XIV Guidelines:
Posting aimed to create a negative impact on the community or its members.
Posting seeking to damage or disparage Square Enix, the forum, FINAL FANTASY XIV, or others.
Use of inappropriate or aggressive language.

Yes my post contained a couple poos, but that's what chat filters are for. I just thought the first two were funny. Over a two week ban btw.

Well. Looks like I can't select my main character in order to access the forum. Also, my main character does not show its LV 50 Jobs. Just those below.

Gee, SE is not bias at all towards legacy players are they, lol. Seeing as how only characters who are currently level 25+ are the only ones who can create a thread on the new forums and only legacy characters match that until EA starts when other players can level again.

See my post above, at least I can not! ^.^/

Edit: Now I can. Why didn't SE tell me to click the star in the first place!

Good thing I will never use them. I'm glad they came up with even more reasons to not use their forums over ZAM. The only cool part about the forum is the character look-up stuff, but I'm sure a better third party site will pop up soon after launch.

@Rinsui:
I had to select the star icon on the character banner under edit main character at the site before ir slected it properly. Then after clicking on save at the bottom, it saved my main character choice.

Edit: Ikr?!

Clearly, these are measures to combat their serious trolling / bullying problems. Maybe it will calm people down if they have to be more thoughtful about what they post. But somehow I doubt it. Smiley: tongue

Does your main character have a broken image icon on it with no information? >_<

Geez imagine how long it would take to get my post count on the Lodestone...

Why does SE hate player interaction?

NA Beta forums was a cesspit. An absolute festering pile of vocal excrement rolled in the constant pissing and moaning. Dumped upon by the constant waste of repeat posts and personal attacks.

Golgothan himself took one look at the Beta forums and went 'Nope.'

If people could learn to control themselves, maybe we wouldn't need these restrictions. You're lucky it's not me in charge, I'd be damn right draconian.

I am hoping that is because all the open beta people suddenly had access to a place to unleash the vitriol. Now that people will have to pay, that should lessen it a bit, but probably not entirely.
