Can a linked ps3/pc account early access both?Follow

#1 Aug 22 2013 at 3:41 PM Rating: Good
Here's the situation. I have the original CE edition for PC but I wanted early access and since I also have a PS3 and sometimes just feel like being in the other room I preordered the game for that system to gain early access and have both means of playing platforms. I got the ps3 early access and linked my account with my PC username/PW.

After playing the beta a little while on my PS3 I realized I enjoy the PC a lot more, so I tried to find out if I was able to gain early access using my PC since the two platforms are linked, but I can't seem to figure it out. Is this at all possible or am I stuck for the 3 days on my PS3 only?

I apologize if this situation has come up previously in another thread. Thanks guys!

I don't believe you can link them. I'm in the same boat as you. I have the CE V1.0 but to get the pre-order bonus stuff you needed to pre-order on PS3. This lets you get the pre-order bonus stuff along with the CE 1.0 and ARR CE bonus stuff. You are just stuck playing on the PS3 until the digital upgrade goes live on the 27th. Then you can play on PC.

Just a guess, but as long as one is registered for EA and you have the client for both, you shouldn't have any problems since you will still be using the same login. Also the P4 client supposedly will work as the EA/Official client. Well we will know soon.

When I type my login info into the PC beta launcher, it says that "there are no valid service accounts", "please follow the URL below to register your pre-order code for early access."

I'm not sure if that is just because there is no game to play at the moment or because you can't in fact do both.

My account on PC says the same thing but the PS3 says please wait for early access to start.

I see I see... Well I just tried to log into the PC browser, after getting pass the ToS, I got the message you got. Turned on my PS3, put my password in, accepted the ToS, and I got the option to choose the service account to go with. Now the PS3 launcher is updating. I'll try again after it finishes updating and again during EA if it still doesn't work. Either way, really suck That I can't use the code for my 1.0 copy >.>;

I'm in the same situation as the topic creator, pretty disappointing considering I was also under the impression pre-ordering on ps3 meant you could link and play on a 1.0 account on PC at EA.

I believe you need to a a retail copy of both.. This is no longer beta.. Your character can be accessed from both but you need a retail copy for the pc and the ps3 to play on both. this is the exact same way it is for FFXI

I have the Retail copy for 1.0 which is suppose to work for 2.0, and I have the PS3 pre-order code, so I have both

I solved my previous issue pertaining to this topic.

What I did:

Input ps3 pre-order code from Square into Playstation network store
Download the FF14 ARR client onto ps3
Input 1.0 account information into the FF14 ARR client and link them
Patch the game on ps3

Now I am able to patch my PC client in addition to ps3 client. They are both ready for early access at launch.

See I have a problem there. I have 2 service accounts.. Why? I don't know, but when It asked me with account to use, I chose the one that my 1.0 information wasn't on... Sent and Email to SE with the hope of possibly merging them into 1 account. Hopefully something can be done.

After downloading the 2.5GB patches for PS3 from yesterday and today, I was given a new option today that was not available yesterday where I could enter in some more SE information and choose which account I was using. My previous Account 1 was for the 1.0 Beta and still displayed even though it was cancelled. After I selected my Account 2 it now displayed my Windows 1.0 CE account plus all of the CE items for both versions 1.0 and ARR (Onion Helm, Asuran Armguards, Helm of Light, Couerl Mount, Behemoth Chocobo Armor, and the other one), plus it showed my PC Beta, PS3 Beta, and now registered my PS3 early-access account.

After all of those things were registered together, I was then able to come back to my PC and login and patch my PC version and it no longer displayed the Invalid Account screen.

So yes, the early access should work for both PC & PS3 accounts.

Greetings,

Version 1.0 account holders that have redeemed a PS3 pre-order code for early access on their account are now eligible to play on the PC version as well!

Excellent! After going back onto the PS3 like the person above, and after patching on the PS3... I was able to then log on to my account on the PC and it immediately started patching!

Thank you guys for all of your information during these confusing times!

Hmm, I've patched my PS3 version and I'm still getting that error on my PC version. What has just occurred to me is that maybe I played Version 1.0 on a different SE account from the one I've been playing beta on. I don't remember if I had a second SE account, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Yep, I just went to my account management and looked under service history, the account I've been using for beta and that I've already linked my PS3 pre-order to, does not have FFXIV anywhere in it's history. I can't even remember the name of the account that I played FFXIV on, so I guess I'm screwed and will have to buy the PC version again.

So I made attempt to open the PC launcher. After logging in, it asked me to accept the ToS(didn't ask the other times I tried), looked like it was going to make an attempt to update(never did this before), then suddenly jumped back the the "No valid or active service account is available to play FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. "
