People are selling there codes on eBay for under $10. I won't link the pages but, its happening. Its a good idea for the 1.0 CE people that can't justify buying a new copy of a game they get for free. Just trying to help.

I'm so excited for Saturday!

Do you think that really works? I'm skeptical. >_<

If you pre order via Amazon or something and cancel, you get a code. the code is still good, they are likely just placing fake orders and selling the codes. They dont charge you for the order until release date, which if you cancel 5 min after you order is never

I used one of my cancelled codes to register my PC account before i bought the collectors from PS store.

Not going to lie.. I may or may not be selling one or two of those codes... They work. I got mine from Gamestop, I would send a pic of the receipt to prove its real.

In that case... here is my scenario.. tell me if you think I am okay!

I am a 1.0 CE player and I was told that I could not pre-order the game to get early access and the items because it would only let me be registered for either pre-order OR 1.0 CE.

At this point I already had my pre-order code and was trying it with everyone else, getting error 3.

So I cancelled my pre-order that I got directly from Square Enix's store, since I didn't think it was going to let me use it anyway, but then this morning I got an email from Square saying I successfully redeemed my pre-order code.

Since then I now know I can be a 1.0 CE player AND use the pre-order code.

The charge for the pre-order is on hold on my bank account but I am assuming since I cancelled the pre-order that I will be refunded the money. When I launch the game, it gives me the message, Please wait until the start of the early access period or official launch to access the game. like it is supposed to..

But I worry that it will know I cancelled and didn't pay, and won't let me in...

How will it know? What if I decided that I didn't want early access and gave my code to you or someone who didn't pre-order? Anyway, you're fine. It doesn't matter. I have no way to back that up or anything but why waste any effort at all to find people who have stuff for the pre-order that didn't really pre-order or canceled the pre-order. The only thing that COULD have happened was, if you cancel the pre-order the code is deactivated but even that would take too much effort.

Anyway, I just gave a code to someone from an item I canceled and it worked fine. Don't sweat it and enjoy your items :p

I actually told SE that it happened and ask them to cancel the cancellation and they said they couldn't do it. I don't like feeling like I didn't pay for it. Blah. I am going to buy it again cause I feel quilty!

you realize all you have to do is pre order the game to get the code at gamestop, 5$ and you get these items and you can cancel your pre order after the early access code is used to make sure your code doesnt go void. not that its the moral right thing to do

Yeah I didn't do it on purpose at all. I felt so bad so I bought another preorder. My conscious feels better.

I find selling codes morally reprehensible, but I don't see a problem with using codes that you obtained with no intention of abusing the system. Especially after you even told SE about it and they said fine, keep it. But then, you already pre-ordered another so if you were to cancel it you'd have a second code to feel bad about Smiley: lol

In my case, I had a code from a cancelled gamestop preorder (I cancelled and bought on PSN instead) and feel perfectly OK with giving it to my wife so she can play with me on Saturday.

Earlier today I was able to get FFXIV to register to my SE profile as well as using the preorder site to accept my code which then gives me the early access code and got that registered.

So now, SE sent me another e-mail about 2 hours ago with another set of early access codes. I wanna to check to see I still have all of the stuff I registered earlier active, but I'm not sure where.

If everything is in order, I'll be giving the early access codes they just sent to someone who wants them. Just so you know, it seems to be EU codes since the e-mail address it came from has EU in it. They're PC codes as well.

(BTW, I am so happy that my profile name on ZAM has been changed to the new one. SE also sent me an e-mail that my CE has been shipped and I have a tracking number XD So happy and relieved!)

I wouldn't risk circumventing the process. The legalese in SE's agreements is very strict, and I love this game too much to risk not being able to play.

I didn't read the agreements, but I guess that makes sense. I just figured the codes are not going to be used and might as well give it to someone who can use them.

You can also get a code for a $5 pre-order at Gamestop which is simpler.

What does it say? I can't preorder a game and sell or give the code away that I no longer need? I just ordered 5 copies for friends at gamestop, but they don't need the codes.. what now?
