Best keyboard for the PS3?Follow

#1 Aug 23 2013 at 10:45 AM Rating: Decent
What is the best keyboard to use for the PS3? My current keyboard (the same one I used for FFXI on XBox360 is trash) and I need an upgrade.

I've seen a couple "Sony" keyboards at GameStop but I want to know if anyone can post a link or something for one that they've enjoyed.

Rate-ups for those who hook a brother up.

I have the Bluetooth chatpad that hooks right up to your controller. It works decent for typing out a quick message. For some reason I can"t get "/" to work when I an in game even though it works fine everywhere else. Anyone else have this problem? I also have a Logitech USB keyboard that I use most of the time.

Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800:

Wireless keyboard with backlighting of you prefer to play in the dark as I do. The battery lasts for a couple weeks between recharges (mini USB cable) because it is so good at turning itself off when not in use. Still, it knows when your hand is over it enough to light up the keys before you even start typing.

I've used this keyboard for years now and I just bought a second one for my PS3.

I bought a small Logitech wireless on with a built in laptop-like mouse from Walmart for $26. It works well. I couldn't find the PS3 chatpad anywhere or I would have bought that.

I use a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard. Sleek not bulky and the keys light up for night time.

Using a non-mechanical keyboard is just a travesty, but unfortunately there aren't a lot of wireless ones.

You could go with something like this though.

I have the same thing but that isn't an issue for me. My "/" works fine.

That's the one I went with. Picked it up today at GS for $18. It's the best option for me bc I like to play while laying in bed and my wife hates the clicking of my old keyboard. Haha.

Happy Wife = Happy Life (and happy gaming sessions way into the early AM)

Thanks for everyone's help! Have fun tomorrow!

I bought a cheap USB keyboard years ago from Biglots, and it still works just as good as the day I bought it. I originally bought it to play FFXI on the 360, but I didn't stick with that game for very long, so really it hasn't had that much use up until recently. The only other game I ever used it on besides FFXIV was Little Big Planet 1 & 2.

I was looking at the attachment keyboard for the controller...always wondered if it would hinder the ability to use the trigger buttons though...

Use this as well, and bought some cheap thing from Walmart for when I'm just relaxing & chatting. But the typing pad is pretty awesome, but hard to find in stores. GS happened to have a used one.

@DKbrunswickthese - I've had no problem & barely notice it when I'm playing.

I tested it out with Mass Effect 3 tonight. The triggers worked fine after like five minutes of getting used to the "bigger" controller.

Check GameStop online, but call before you go. The chick at my GS said they were very unpopular when released and most stores don't carry them anymore. You're going to have to get a used one most likely.

Good luck and peace.
