Player DDOS essential is my first guess. There are a lot more people in EA then there were in P4 I bet.

Yeah! I'm kinda getting aggravated since there's not much I can do. I can't level any combat classes since I only have access to ACN and their first quest is an instanced battle, and I can't level up my crafting classes much since I need the retainers to free up my inventory.
I'm a bit stuck myself. I want to continue several important quests and can't right now.
If you find yourself on the fuzzy end of a loading screen because of this, you can usually just alt+f4 out of the game, log back in and you'll be back before the loading screen.
I know it doesn't help you get on with your quest or dungeon, but at least you can do SOMETHING.

i really want to finish my quests so i can get a chocobo to make it easier to travel. :x
