Most people seem to be taking this pretty well. After the beta forums I expected a full blown hissy from the community. I'm so proud. ;)

Maintenance happens. But when you see it happen to only half the game population repeatedly, then people might start getting annoyed. Either way - time for lunch.

Yeah no kidding. I'm just glad they're going in head first this time and fixing things.

I'd probably be more narked if I hadn't already played about 6 hours straight ;p I certainly expected more emergency maintenances than this, here's hoping we don't. But I'm sure many people remember how unplayable ffxi was due to maintenances at cetain periods of its past. :P

ITT: Suspiciously timed maintenance forces NA players who got up at 5AM or stayed up all night to eat and sleep. Smiley: tinfoilhat

Any idea how many people were logged in? Judging by the numbers insisting ZAM right now had to be more than any point during 1.0. Just ball parking.

I do want to point out here, that it IS a Japanese company, and them giving their homeland more attention doesn't seem too out of the question to me. American and European companies do it all the time. I for one think it was a smooth launch until the maintenance. Also, they had a record amount of people in beta, which means they probably had wayyyyy more people than they anticipated in EA, especially after a failed 1.0. Take this time to do something productive IRL so when the servers do come back up you can make the best of your time on them.

outside the instance problem the game was running fine too, placing queues to avoid massive influx of players at once really worked to reduce the lag.

Well, I just woke up to log on, and I see this. I guess I will go find breakfast.

I sure hope this doesnt end up being an all day maintenance though.

This is the reason why I didn't plan or call off today. Never met a launch without problems.

Nice that they were somewhat prompt on the maintenance though.
