Hello, this is FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Producer and Director, Yoshida.
The maximum expected population limit is nearing for each World, and unless the current World simultaneous connection amount decreases, we are unable to open release the limitation.
In case we do release the limitation, there is a high chance that the corresponding World will crash or cause issues, and we are thinking that it will be difficult for us to release it for a while. We please ask you to consider playing in a World that has a low limitation.
We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause and ask to continue with your cooperation.
Source This is ridiculous.
lol i think they should do something i mean what about ppl who dont preorder than are gonna get the game tuesday.. what are they gonna do when all but 1 server (are NO servers) nare open?..
Also did the use smaller servers are something? I mean FFXI didnt have this problem at launch nor did FFXIV 1.0... or eve WoW.. Im 100% sure this game isnt doing THIS good to the point that so many ppl bought it that all teh servers ae full or close... Im guessing they went with small servers
Where were you at Wow's release? On many servers it was weeks before ppl get consistently get online and play. Swtor had Queues hours and hours long at launch. Issues like this are more the rule than the exception. Buying/renting more server hardware isn't an answer, because things like this generally come down to coding for expected traffic. If they go and buy more hardware and then a few weeks from now things have eased off, they've got a bunch of excess investment in unused hardware. Investors don't let that happen. There is only so much control the studio actually has in cases such as this.
Point being, put on the big boy pants and grow up a little bit. be patient. you don't always get things just the way you want them right out the gate.
