How would you feel about a release delay? Follow

I realize that many people will just argue "these are normal bumps,"
but it seems a bit more like SE doesn't have the server capacity or technology to handle things yet.
3+ maintenance periods and nothing fixed generally suggests either a serious issue or incompetence in running the servers

I doubt it would actually happen (would be a marketing disaster)
But how would you feel if they wrote this off as beta 5, and released the game a few weeks from now when they got things in order?

In other words, would you rather a launch you can play -sometimes-
Or would you rather not play for 2 or 3 weeks but get a launch that works well?

I would be fine with that and calling it BETA 5.... as long as there was a complete character wipe at the end of it.

Maybe another 2 or 3 weeks of BETA ending with a complete character wipe, followed by a weekend of open BETA leading to a 3 day early access period.

Otherwise all you are asking for is an additional 3 week head start that is cost free.
You would be creating such a huge gap that you may as well let the Legacy players join if that is to be the case.

May be a popular idea among people already in game but
I'm sure the people that are waiting for access on Tuesday would much rather be able to login and "play sometimes" than sit waiting, unable to login, while others are creating a 4 week lead.

Okay. Then don't.

I often feel like a beta tester with any new product these days. That seems to be the standard with their initial release. Some smoother than others, of course. You're always taking that chance when you decide to be one of the 1st people getting it though. You're also gonna pay more than people who wait. So you can have the privilege of being one of the guinea pigs who gets it first.

They have fixed the duty finder which was the goal of the other maintenance .

In the process this current downtime could be an adverse side effect of something they put in place so people could use the DFS.

From what's in the technical forums on Lodestone, the duty finder apparently still isn't 100%, so add that back onto their plate of problems.
