If the game launches and has bugs, then the game launches and has bugs. Big deal. A year from now there's going to be bugs. FFXI has bugs. Look how old it is.

Today at work (AMEX) our authorization server failed. We are one of the largest credit card authorization processors worldwide, if not the largest worldwide. When I left we had been down for 3 hours. We process many many millions if not billions of transactions an hour. EVERY American Express card was unusable, with a primary client base of high end multi million dollar businesses. I myself work as a Business Financial Consultant.

Do you know how many clients I speak with a day? Roughly 170 on a daily average. My team handles roughly 840 a day on average. My business group handles over 10k clients daily. That's a lot of people, and that's just one of several business groups on a single shift.

Out of all of my contacts I received 3 nasty calls. My team received 8 total. As a business group we received 91 nasty calls. These are people spending tens of thousands every day for their business. It is their life's blood and they have to be functioning at all times. Yet we only received a handful of bad comments about one of the largest processors being down.

So, pray tell, how does a $30 game, a game that you didn't pay extra for early access for, a game that would have been $30 whether you pre-ordered it or not, can have so many more complainers about something that isn't even a requirement in life, something that is purely for entertainment, and in no way affects whether you survive or not, yet has so many more quacking hens than a massive financial entity when it fails causing havoc and mayhem?

This is step three of white knight apologism: All mmos have bugs so its ok that its broken.

Did you type something again? Sorry, I missed your meaningful contribution again... Could you tell me what it is again in highlighter? Pop-up pictures put emphasis on your logic as well.

Oh like your blatant white knightism is adding something meaningful, all you are doing is trolling those who have problems. It was people like you who claimed 1.0 was fine at launch

Ehllfire kinda has a point, bickering aside(though you're both guilty of that to an extent).

The 'it's just beta' excuse only works up until open beta. We do still expect issues there too, but we also expect the testing phases to address these issues prior to early access and launch. I'm sure everyone is sick of seeing the threads about the game being broken, but the only relief is to fix it. That window closes in just over a day.

I haven't kept up through the testing phases until open beta, but have we ever had more issues affecting service than the ones we're seeing now?

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

Exactly.. The problem is they didn't give enough time to address the issues before launch because they are rushing things.

I don't, to an extent, have a problem with sharing opinions. I can completely sympathize with those having issues. God knows I have issues with software every day outside of XIV. Let me be very clear here Ehll: You and I are experiencing the exact same issues. You and I both bought the same game and paid for it in full with the incentive of being allowed into Early Access. You and I are in the exact same boat.

The problem I have is that I have not found one single post as of late in which you've done anything but bring the spirit of the community as a whole down. You are the single most pessimistic person here. You hate SE. You hate this game, dare I say. Yet you won't leave. You won't go somewhere else where you are happy. The only reason I can figure is either you are THAT passionate about the game's success, or you merely get off on being as much of an asshat as you have been, continually, for days in every single thread you touch. I can't ever ask you about that, either, because you'll refuse honesty concerning the topic and just flame on instead. What's worse is that I can rate you down, I can ignore you, but nothing I do takes you off my screen. I still have to look at you when I'm having decent conversation with everyone else. EVERYONE has no choice but to see your garbage posts when as a community we are trying to be positive because we, like you, have a passion for this game and want the best for it. I simply do not understand you, nor do I understand the others here like you, but you single handedly take the cake.

Does it always have to be sunshine, rainbows, and unicorns? Perhaps I complain to get these issues fixed? Perhaps I loathe the thought of 1.0 all over again? But you are half right on one thing. SE has become the Japanese version of EA. They seem to be destroying their IPs at an astonishing rate (Front Mission anyone?).

I'm by no means disagreeing with you here. I sincerely hope these issues are resolved timely.

It doesn't always have to be sunshine and unicorns. It doesn't have to be gloom and doom and awful either. There are good things coming out of the game despite the issues. Yes, it is a shame some aren't able to experience it because of the login cap and prior instance issues (using the term as an umbrella for anything related to systems outside of looking at grass in a field doing nothing). It is just hard for me to imagine that someone who WANTS a game to survive and prosper can have absolutely nothing good to say at all about anyone or anything associated with the game or it's community. Not one.
