1.0 CE non Legacy player question: What to expect tomorrow?Follow

#1 Aug 26 2013 at 9:52 AM Rating: Decent
Due the inability to be able to post or create a thread on the official forums

"Message
New thread cannot be created due to either you have reached to your daily limit or your main character's level is not high enough. "

(wth..) im forced to ask this here in hope that someone can bring me some light on this question:

What can we expect as a 1.0 CE non legacy player for tomorrow, i read somewhere they will send keys to our mails in order to activate on our accounts, and we will also have to register something on mogstation, does anyone have any idea at what time during tomorrow they will do this?

Also they extended the grace period till 29th anyone know if that affected the schedule for release on the 27th?
thanks in advance

Yeah I am wondering the same thing - how do I get access? And are they keeping their promise to let us change the appearance of our original characters? (I want to be a Roe female, which was not available before)

If it helps to know, I subscribed for at least 30 days while it was still under development.

Yes you'll be able to change your appearance. I was able to change mine...well before I decided to delete it and start from scratch on a new server

My friend is in the same boat (purchased 1.0, but didn't subscribe). The only information I could find was something in an FAQ posted months ago that basically said that they would post more detailed information later.

Since official launch is tomorrow, I hope they post any pertinent information today.

If you are a 1.0 holder and play the game even for one day (you register your 1.0 key at one point)? Then you just have to go into your SE account and activated your register Key in the SE service account. That is the biggest problem 1.0 holders are having, since a lot of people forgot their password and cannot log in on their SE accounts.

Second if you purchased a 1.0 copy of the game and did not ever register the key, you have to wait until key registration is allow which I think is today. You can use your 1.0 key number to register, there will nothing that I have read about received keys on e-mail, that was for early access keys.

Any 1.0 CE holder will received the Digital CE items in your moogle mail in the game after the 27th official release date.

I registered the original key, it's in my SE account, but I have yet to receive any email with instructions or anything. I am not legacy but I did pay some sub fees (at least 1 month) during the transition period. I was never invited to participate in any of the beta events, if that makes a difference. Would love to know some basic stuff like how do I get the new client, will I be able to move my legacy char to a NA server (it's on a JP server now I believe?), can I change my race etc as was promised... and how.

In the account management system it simply says "Code registration currently unavailable."

Never mind that I don't have a code anyway.

That I know, nobody has really received a e-mail with instructions, but I have confirm with some friends that you should had received a e-mail with a invitation for beta phase 3. "In the account management system it simply says "Code registration currently unavailable." That is fine since you already register your code, if you go in your SE account under service and options then confirm account status then choose Final Fantasy XIV it should show it as registered.

Here is the link to download the client. The Beta Phase 4 client is the same as the release. The client is about 128 MB, after installation the patch will be around 8GBs or more.

If you still remember your 1.0 username and password, that is what you need to log in. After the free 30 days probably will have to setup a payment option.

There was a time to move your 1.0 character to a difference server which already expired. SE has confirm that after a couple of months, they will open the option to move again like in FFXI. When you start the game and it will show your 1.0 character, you can click on the summary on the right side of the screen to change everything about them including race and name.

I didn't get an invite to phase 3

:(

I was really sad about that. I've triple checked my email boxes, both of them, and I got nothing.

Also, why the heck would they make people move their chars before they even have access to the game? That makes no sense at all! And how about emailing a person so they know when these dates are?

Why don't they email 1.0 players or just have it so you click a button on your account management if you want access? Why is this so hard and confusing?

They did send out an email. I would assume that there was either a flaw in their emailer, the email was sent to spam, or you may have setup an address different that the one you are checking.

I personally received two emails for the server move, however, I also know a few people who did not receive any notification, and based on your post, I would assume you like a few others never actually received it...

They will be allowing server moves at a later date, but that will cost actual moneys.

Hopefully they do implement at last chance move when the servers settle down. But, based on how well the Early Access has been going, I am really glad they didn't attempt to shoe-horn a server move for people who missed the server move.

But, yeah, if enough people bring it up in the public forums, SE may be persuaded in to re-opening the server migration for 1.0 people who missed the first one. They do have a vested interest in helping those who (in a civilized manner) bring up valid issues.

One of my FFXIV friends posted this link on Facebook. I've included the copy/paste of it in spoilers below:

[NA]Precautions Concerning FINAL FANTASY XIV Entitlements

Once FINAL FANTASY XIV is officially launched, players will need to use a registration code (for the Windows version of the game) or a promotion code (for the PlayStation 3 version of the game) in order to obtain entitlements for each respective platform. Please review the guidelines below in order to ensure that you successfully register your codes.

When registering an entitlement, you will be able choose between registering it to an existing service account which you have previously played FINAL FANTASY XIV on, or registering it to a completely new service account.

We have received reports from players who, although they wished to continue playing the game post-launch with characters created either in the original FINAL FANTASY XIV or during the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn beta test, have mistakenly registered their entitlements to either the wrong service account, or to a brand new service account.
In order to prevent this from happening to you, please keep the following in mind.

* If you wish to play with a character from either the original FINAL FANTASY XIV or the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn beta test:
- When going through the process to register your entitlement, be sure to log in using the same login ID and password that you previously used when logging into the game to play with the character in question.
- Please do not select the “Create New Service Account” option
- If your account has only one FINAL FANTASY XIV service account, please select that option to continue.
- If your account is displaying multiple FINAL FANTASY XIV service accounts, please review the entitlements already attached to each of these service accounts before selecting the service account you wish to register the entitlement in question to.

* Regarding the display of entitlements attached to service accounts -Upon selecting a service account, the currently registered entitlements on it will be displayed. For your reference, the names and descriptions of each entitlement are written below:

[Windows (R) Version]
FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn - Windows(R) = This will be displayed if you previously played the original FINAL FANTASY XIV. You will be entitled to play the Windows (R) version of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn - Pre-order Code - Windows(R) = This will be displayed if a Windows (R) pre-order code has been registered to this service account.
FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Test - Windows (R) = This will be displayed if you previously participated in the beta test.

[PlayStation (R) 3 Version]
FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn - Pre-order Code – PlayStation (R) 3 = This will be displayed if a PS3 pre-order code has been registered to this service account.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta Test - PlayStation (R) 3 = This will be displayed if you previously participated in the beta test on PS3.

* If you logged in during the Early Access period, the names and worlds of any characters in the Service Account will also be displayed.
* Entitlements exist for both the Windows (R) and Playstation (R) 3 versions of the game, and in order to play on both platforms, a service account will need both kinds of entitlements.

My question is...what's an entitlement? Is that a code I need to generate? I'm a 1.0 CE non-legacy. I've accessed Square Enix Account Management and can see my FFXIV account listed and active.

It's so weird because I get my crysta emails from SE when I add money to my account but the last email I got re: FFXIV was regarding the free week they had a year ago - nothing since then.

Huh, since I last checked the account management system they have changed my FFXIV logo button to FFXIV ARR and added something called "Mog Station"

Also I have checked my junk folders and there is NOTHING from SE about ARR.

Well, nothing from SE at all.

I am a non legacy 1.0 player too and i was just trying to figure all this out myself. I've tried logging into the launcher and it always told me "no active service accounts" but it just let me log in and start downloading. I'll update anything else I discover

If you play in the 4th beta, you already have the official copy of the game. You just have to log in just like any other day and play after any client patch.

If you see a service account of FFXIV ARR in you SE account, you don't need to do anything else there. Except later the Mog station is to pay for the sub, remember everyone one will get the first month for free regardless of your copy of FFXIV.

When you install the copy of the client, it will ask you if you already have a account. Choose that option and it will ask you to log in with your normal username and password from 1.0. If you are able to log in because you did not forgot your username and password from 1.0, you are set to play. Don't have to do anything else since you get the first month for FREE.

Anyone with a CE copy, will get the CE ARR digital items in the game moggle mail without needing to do anything else.

Just started my download..... It appears to autodetect your FFXIV registration for those that registered in 1.0 based on the login name and password you use. So that would be why they didn't email you a code to re-register.

I think it would still be helpful if they emailed people instructions. I am still not sure what I am supposed to be doing.

edit: mog station is currently half functional and shows me owning my CE but it says "no available characters" - I better be able to play on my old character -.-

Yeah, I'm able to download the client now. Yesterday it kept telling me my account was unauthorized, or didn't have an active character or something like that. Still can't access the subscription part of the site (or the Mog Station?).
