Yoshi-P gets emotional at launch eventFollow

#52REDACTED, Posted: Aug 27 2013 at 9:40 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I totally don't understand the apologists like this. SE, and by default, Yoshi, chose to do almost no testing of the NA servers, apart from a couple of days, which showed massive infrastructure problems. They could have either started testing much earlier, giving themselves time to fix the massive infrastructure problems, or, delayed launch to make things run smoothly. They did neither. Then, once the errors manifested, both in beta and early access, how many dev posts did we see in the forums - I'll give you a hint, its a number less than "1". The news posts on Lodestone have been very few and totally lacking in explanation or any details about how or when things will be fixed.

I have to give him props - so far the game is a lot more fun than I thought it would be.

Pffft, I live in Tokyo, we actually eat fish heads here. Of course, I haven't had one today . . .

Can we ban Killua now please?

I'll justify the request as an effort to improve and grow the community. I've been reading these forums since 1.0 and this guy always stirs up trouble. When you have newbies and veteran posters agreeing on this guy's posts, that they are universally troll posts, and when you see that name you already know what to expect, I'd call that damaging.

Now here he is trying to frame a video of the producer for the game this forum is themed for as a weeping over technical difficulties instead of what it actually is, tears of joy from completing a difficult leg of a journey, I call that damaging to the community as a whole.

Who's "we"?

He does apologize for the server issues, and he does cry. I'm not a Japanese speaker, I just wanted to share the video. It's clear that Yoshida has a lot of emotions running right now

Why so many people feel a need to kiss Yoshi's butt for the massive, preventable, failures, boggles my mind.

I'm not kissing his butt. I'm relating to his experience of pouring his heart into something and having it not go smoothly. I've had it at my job and it sucks. Overall he did an amazing job with 2.0, its a fantastic game if you take out the tech problems.

You're an idiot if you think they wanted this to happen or didn't plan for it. Certainly they saw the problems with the servers, but thought they could handle it and manage through it. You don't exactly just go on Amazon and have new servers overnighted, set em up, and hit go. Its a monumental and costly undertaking, and they've said they're working on it.

I want to give kudos to the entire team. It's been a terribly long time since I found leveling up a job in a mmo fun! I'm very happy that boss fights are not tank and spank.

A labor of love. Pure and simple. I don't need to understand the language to see it in their eyes and on their faces. They worked hard, and despite some beginning hiccups, they really pulled off a great game. A game that was dead to begin with.

Kudos Yoshida-san. Kudos.

While I know nothing of Killua125's intentions for posting the video, I'm glad he did as I would have never seen it. I never really thought about how something like this could take such an emotional toll on the people who create games like this.

Kiluah, you could just change the title of this thread to something more fitting to what is actually happening in the video, now that you are more informed.

Or, someone could start a new, better thread to discuss this video... One that accurately portrays what is happening.

This really is a beautiful moment!

Lets not, and say we did.......he just gave an opinion........unpopular, but nevertheless we shouldn't ban people over their right to disagree with just about everyone, everyday.

Regardless of the context, it's pretty apparent that you're deriving a lot of joy from this, despite your attempts to claim otherwise... or maybe you would have added a little more detail to the original post beyond DIRECTOR IS CRYING LOL.

Normally I'm resistant to your stupid attempts at trolling but this time you were successful, and you actually pissed me off. I'm sick of your overwhelming negative attitude about all things pertaining to this game. It's not a question of being critical, it's a matter of being a douche. If you really feel so deeply scorned by SE, hate the product, and are basically so devoid of normal human emotion that you can't adequately understand a let down reflex... I'll ask what several dozens of people before here have asked before: why are you still here? Do you think you're some voice of insight, or even worse, reason? Newsflash: you're just a ****.

These server problems are annoying as hell, but they will be fixed soon, and then we'll be left with this fun, amazing game.

While I lost one friend due to his own group being unable to get onto Diabolos, I haven't logged out since Sunday just out of fear it'd take me forever to get back in. I know they'll be fixed up eventually, but like others, I'm just antsy over it being quickly enough.

I only made one bithcy-post, but it was aimed at the lack of communication about what they're actually doing to fix the issue, instead of simply limiting logins. I do feel bad for Yoshi and the team, this is their baby, and it's already had some terrible teething issues.

It is a wonderful game, and I will definitely be playing it for years to come.

A lot of players are disappointed right now because they've been looking forward to this game, know how close they are, and just can't get into the game. And if players have been anticipating this game that much, just imagine how much Yoshi and his staff have to feel right now. They've been working on this game for over two and a half years. And now that the launch is finally here, instead of being able to celebrate this occasion, they're having to scramble to solve server capacity and congestion issues.
