It was awful last night during the Behemoth FATE. So many people, Behemoth kept popping out of view, and during the brief periods I could see him to target, I had to toggle through a ton of egis.

I promptly found the option to disable them as targets immediately afterwards.

I'm sure someone has answered this but i can't find it. I was messing around with the config lastnight and couldn't figure out how to have it to where i can't select minions. As much as i like mine, i don't want to select him in the middle of a fight while trying to micro manage my carby to hit certain mobs. I know I know, i could just release him but he's my little cheering squad.

I can have the same issues during ffxi when you have to cycle through everything else other than the one mob you needed to target as well as other mmos where the problem is even worse with the super high congestion in a tiny space.

Ha, I remember targeting in FFXI was a pain, often I would reposition myself and the camera to that the mob that I want to target was the closest one or the one on the "right" of the closest one, Since cycling mob through tab began with closest and then switched to the one right of the first target, without considering the distance to you. It wasn't so bad once you were getting use to it but it was a pain to learn tho.

Glad we are having a lot of more targeting option this time around, we can even make macro out of it.

Minions would be great if they actually did something like fight or boost stats. As they are they are a waste of bandwidth. They are an odd addiction lol, something similar to those old cat ladies with 100s of cats in their house

Yeah well that option is broken... my targeting is set to mobs only, and I still get every freaking carbuncle and minion before mobs... frustrating as hell.

I was checking this last night and /targetenemy does not target minions or pets.

Have you tried that for fates? Or just keybinding Target Nearest Enemy?

I don't hate the minions, but I would like more filters on how they display and who's minions I see. I would like a friendlist only or linkshell only option. There are just too many all over the place cluttering up everything.

I'll say it. Your pet is stupid and I hate you for constantly dragging it around everywhere and I hate SE for implementing them in the first place.

All the Carbuncles following people around are bad enough. I'm polite and dismiss mine when I'm inside the city, but every other arcanist has them flopping around the most crowded areas in town. I'm sure some video cards are having nightmares about blue squirrels.

About the only one I don't hate is the baby behemoth, but even then, it's already old. It's old, and I want to make them all disappear from my screen.

Is there this function in the game? Can I just not display minions?

OMG YES can we please disable these!!!

I hate doing FATEs and having to flip through carby's and minions and by the time I finally target a mob it's about to die!!!

If you are playing on PC it helps to set a hotkey for Targe Nearest Enemy. I think the tilde key works great for this. It has worked wonders for my XP gain in crowded FATEs.

I really don't like minions.

It would be great to have an option to turn them off.

OOOOH! How about an option to turn everyone's mount into a chocobo. That would be great too.

SE needs to add an option to not render these. Period. They annoy me even with target/name filter.

Yeah would be nice instead of having 500 people on Magitek Mounts standing next to one NPC. haha

seems like the filters that they do have, dont work.

I play on PS3... targeting stinks. It's my only real complaint other then the 1017 errors.

My minion hates you too. We were running across Highbridge last night when he stopped suddenly.
I asked him what was wrong and he replied, "I hate that Cat person. Minion racism is not to be tolerated. We need to raise awareness and fight for the rights of the little guy."

There was an awkward pause, and then I asked, "Cat WHO?".

And then a FATE popped right on top of us.

I like seeing all the pets and everything out. OP can always pretend they arent there. I dont have a powerhouse of a pc, but I have had no lag no matter how many things are popping off around me, so if its causing lag for some maybe they need to upgrade?

Yeah my CPU is the weakest link. Video card is fine (six month old Radeon HD 7770), but my processor gets pegged out at 40% when XIV runs.

Eyeballing a sweet i7 and motherboard combo on NewEgg - waiting to see if the price on the 4770K drops down when the new processors are released on Sep 1.

I would pay real money to be able to hide vanity pets. You know you want my money, SE. Get on it.

I would not mind the option. Though, I doubt I would mind collecting the minions either. I don't summon mine often though. I have enough tag-along with my Carbuncle.

*sigh* I gotta agree man. The PS3 version is frustrating and I just don't want to play it at all. I doubt I will even go pay off my PS3 preorder. Maybe they can improve it. Really the only fix that is 100% is to implement the entire PC User Interface as an option and allow PS3 users to use Mouse/Keyboard. They have stated officially that this will not be happening.

But really, I mean REALLY, have you tried to create a /targetenemy User Macro and add it to your crossbar?

Hence why I spam Blizzard II in FATES...

I really wish Minions did something special and were a bit rarer. SE seems a bit too bent in having stuff in this game that's "cosmetic only."
I like to customize but if I make a duck look like a dragon... it's still a duck.

I'm actually getting fairly used to controler controls, even targeting. My settings change to enemy only when my weapon is drawn, and I can toggle up and down the list of party members when I need to assist them.

Only problems are when targeting is overcrowded and I can't select the target I want initially.
